DAILY START UP PROCEDURE

Empty the waste container



Check the sheath fluid and cleaning agent level

Turn on the system by pressing the “Power ON” button of the computer.

At the windows dialog box, click OK
(User name field Displays Administrator and Password field remains blank)

Double click the Navios software from the Desktop.

At the prompt, click micro as the user. Click PASSWORD, enter “immunology”.
Click Next and then Finish.

Cytometer status messages will be displayed as follows:

Startup in Process --> Verification --> Initialization --> Awaiting Sample


Open the Power Supply door and check

 WATER TRAP (<1/3 of water),


 AIR FILTER (No fluid),
 VACUUM FILTER (No fluid),
 SYSTEM VACUUM gauge (<17 in. Hg)
 SYSTEM PRESSURE gauge (read between 28 and
32 psi)
 VACUUM TRAP (<1/4 of fluid)


Record the startup checks on the Maintenance Log
SYSTEM CLEANING


1. Put ONE test tube containing about 2 mL of cleanse solution into carousel
“Position 1”and
2. THREE freshly prepared tubes, each containing about 2 mL of distilled
water into positions 2, 3, and 4 of the carousel.

Cleanse Distilled Water


Select Cleanse.PNL from the list of panels.

Enter the Carousel No. in the Worklist.
The tube Location numbers will automatically appear.

Click the Play “►” Button to start.

At the end of the cleanse panel check for <100 events. If more events then repeat the
Cleanse panel with fresh tubes.

After that run Prime and Cleanse cycle.

The message Cleanse cycle in progress appears during the cleaning cycle.
When the cleaning cycle is done, the message changes back to Press Idle
Mode button to Initialize.

Flow Check
(Quality Control)
Vortex the Flow Check Pro Reagent bottle.

Dispense 15-20 drops (0.5ml) of Flow- Check reagent into a 12 x 17mm. test tube.

From the tool bar menu, click Tools, Autoset-up Scheduler.

Select: QC_Flow Check_br8c OR directly select the same from the resource explorer-
protocol

Enter Carousel #

Place the tube containing Flow-Check beads in the carousel and close the MCL
cover.

Press Start/RUN button on the tool bar menu.
Note: At the dialog box, “Do you want to save the current protocol?” Click NO.

If the HPCV of Lin, FL1 Lin, FL2 Lin, Fl3 Lin, FL4 is < 2 and respective chanel,
Click Finish and Click Approve.

If the HPCV of any of the Parameter is > 2, then repeat Step 2. If possible, press
cleanse button or expel bubbles in the system before repeating the run.

DAILY SHUT DOWN PROCEDURE

Perform SYSTEM CLEANING procedure as described in Daily Startup Procedure.



Addition to that Perform Vacuum Line Cleaning Procedure.

Put 5 mL of distilled water into the fill reservoir of two cleaning adaptors and load
them into a carousel: Position the fill reservoirs toward the center of the carousel.

Click on the icon . At the end of the cleaning record that the vacuum line cleaning
Procedure was performed on the electronic Maintenance Log.

Press the button to Close all the open windows.

Double Click on “FC OFF” button on the Desktop.



Select Shutdown from the Startup menu of the computer to shut down the
workstation..

The Cytometer automatically turns off. Turn off the monitor and Printer separately.
