PROCEDURES
Introductory Activity On a sheet of paper, write the country which is associated with the following

1. Khene
2. Nha Nhac
3. Gamelan
4. Piphat
5. Kulintang
Activity
Time Frame: Showing of pictures that the word corresponds to.

Analysis 1. Describe how the musical elements reflect the culture of each country.
Time Frame: 2. What is the difference between the traditional and contemporary folk

Abstraction
Time Frame: Brief discussion of South east Asian music and its characteristics
5 mins.
Application SING IT! MOVE IT!
Time Frame: 1. The class will be grouped into five (5). Each group will sing one
10 mins. Southeast Asian song either learned from class or through research.
Enhance your group performance with the use of improvised musical
instruments as accompaniments and incorporate body
movements/choreography. They will be given 15 minutes to practice and
another 3 minutes for each group presentation.
CRITERIA:
- Correct expression and style
- Accurate rhythm
- Appropriateness of accompaniment and movement
- Creativity
Assessment After doing the musical performance, what are your realizations about Southeast
