Nowadays, most of people have a busy life in the Philippines.

Moreover, we usually have


to face difficulties in our life from work to study. Sometimes, we feel sad, helpless, and
worthless when we have a bad grade at school or disagree with our boss at work. However,
these feelings only stay with us a short time because we can overcome or forget these things
to continue with our life. On the contrary, people who have depression feel helpless,
hopeless, and worthless from time to time. Depression is not only under-diagnosed, but it
often goes un-treated, resulting in serious problems in people's day-to-day lives. Sometimes
parents tend to make matters worse as well because they have difficulty believing that their
child is depressed.
According to the report of JAD (journal of affective disorder) Up to 8.9% of young
Filipino adults experience moderate to severe depressive symptoms. depression is one of the
most common mental illnesses in the Philippines . Depression can be genetic, but it can also
result from deeply personal issues such as experiencing a divorce, growing up in a single-parent
household, growing up with an alcoholic or drug addict parent, being abused, etc. Most people
find it hard or uncomfortable to talk about these things, so they bottle up their feelings; which
only makes them more depressed, and can cause serious issues such as feelings of low self-
worth, and suicidal thoughts. Talk therapy is one of the most prevalent types of depression
treatment. However, acceptance is quite difficult. It's difficult to locate a provider who accepts
your insurance, has availability, is close to you, offers afterschool hours, and is pleasant to deal
with.

Depression has a significant impact on people's life, particularly in teenagers, when it is


prevalent. According to reports, 63 percent of teenagers with serious depression do not obtain
therapy. Six out of ten depressed teens, who are also at the highest risk of suicide attempts,
frequently struggle in school, have poor connections with others, and do not receive the
necessary care to help them. These major depressive episodes are frequently caused by the
amount of demands teenagers endure on a daily basis, such as bullying, issues of belonging, and
academic pressures; all of which produce serious stress. Girls are approximately 12% more
likely than boys to experience a depressive episode, due to the fact that girls express their

members. This same study found that 41.2 percent of teenagers who matched the criteria for
having a depressive episode received treatment, which is very encouraging for doctors.

for them. Antidepressants are being very underused in today's world, Depression is a mood
disorder that can be treated. Depressive episodes can be treated with lifestyle changes, coping
strategies, talk therapy, or medicines. Most folks will require a combination of these methods.
If depressive symptoms last for more than two weeks, it is essential to contact a doctor. A doctor
can make a diagnosis and propose a course of therapy.
To maintain recovery from depression, it is important to treat mental health in the same manner
that physical health is treated – by working on it continuously.
Furthermore, depression seriously affects their life and their family because they lose
interest in all things. Their life likes the hell, and they want to kill themselves by suicide.

solutions to treat and prevent this illness. We live in a world where mental illness is not
spoken, and if you are hurting, you simply hide behind a fake smile. People need to be more
understanding of the concept of mental illness so that they can focus on getting healthy.

family history of depression. Personal trauma and sources of stress, such as a failed
relationship or a lost job, can also cause depression. Social isolation as the result of conflict
with family and friends can be a contributory factor, and certain medications, such as high
blood pressure medication, have depression listed as a possible side effect. the effect of

other physical symptoms. If you develop insomnia or hypersomnia (sleeping too much), you
will be fatigued and lethargic. In the long term, you can experience malnutrition from not
