Homelessness is increasing in many major cities around the world.

What do you think are the main causes of this problem and what measures could
be taken to solve it?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or
experience.

Write at least 250 words.

Causes: - cost of house  can not afford, especially in large city

- The salary too low

Measures: - adjust cost of house

- Create opportunity of jobs for people

In today’s world, there is a problem of increase of the number of homeless people in big cities.
The number of homeless people is growing every year. In this essay, I will analyze several
causes of homelessness and their solutions.

The reasons why homelessness becomes worse are mostly owing to financial burden. Firstly,
the cost of living in major cities, such as New York City, Los Angeles, Seoul or Tokyo, is
incredibly high. Hence, citizens, who must live there but are not able to afford to buy house,
have to pay expensive accommodation fees. Therefore, if they have financial problems that
could lead to the inability to pay for housing, they must leave their residences. Secondly, the
salaries of blue-collar workers are too low in some countries, which make them can not buy the
house despite their hard-working. For example, in developing countries like Vietnam, a part of
workers only has the salaries under five hundred dollars a month.

To deal with these causes, the government should try to help the lower income of the society.
Initially, the authority should invest more money to build low-prices accommodation. Thus,
individuals who only earn little can have a place to live. In addition, the authority should create
more opportunities for people to find suitable jobs. This can be done by investing in education
and training for the citizens.

In conclusion, there are significant reasons of homelessness in major cities. However, they are
largely preventable with the correct actions of the government.
