VI. LEARNING ACTIVITIES

1. Make an example floor plan for your ideal multi-grade classroom. Discuss and
explain why you chose such design. (20 pts)

The effectiveness of your learning environment and the level of participation will
be determined by how you arrange and manage your classroom.
1) Forming groupings with large tables or a collection of workstations. Because I
don't want pupils to have their backs to me, I’ll arrange the students vertically.
Students should face me at all times to ensure involvement and, hopefully,
participation.

2) Groups are beneficial because students may share and collaborate on their
ideas. Because some children are bashful, this may be the only time they will
actively participate.

3) Having group centers can assist me in setting up a center-based classroom as


well as having small-group guided reading and writing sessions.

4) Everyone enjoys being read to, so set up a rocking chair, a mat, and a classroom
library for some quiet time.

5) Provide a variety of writing surfaces, such as a white board, smart board,


overhead projector, and blackboard.

6) Art, Science, Math, Reading, Writing, and other subjects should be included in
the centers, but not limited to them.

7) In my classroom, I should have a lot of MEDIA tools.

ENSURE THAT THE SETTING MEETS ALL OF THE STUDENTS'


REQUIREMENTS:

1) I'll make sure I have interesting materials for students who finish homework early
in class.

2) I will provide opportunities for kids to participate in hands-on activities.

3) I'll offer the students control over their surroundings (give respect, get respect)

4) I’ll have kids bring books to the classroom library to share with others.

5) Learning should be enjoyable, so I’ll engage, explore, extend, evaluate, and


explain using the 5e’s.

6) There are numerous intelligences, and I’ll take use of this to prepare,
differentiate, and modify the curriculum to each student’s learning style.

7) I WILL ESTABLISH EFFECTIVE AND AFFECTIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH


STUDENTS, PARENTS, AND COWORKERS.
2. “Establishing student conduct norms at the start of class can go a long way
toward preventing disruptive behavior in the classroom." Do you agree with
the above statement? Why? Explain. (10 pts)

Establishing rules helps you avoid disruptive behavior and react quickly in the
moment. You can use your syllabus to specify classroom behavioral expectations
in addition to academic goals. The elements that define proper and inappropriate
behavior vary greatly from lectures to laboratories, and across content areas.

Establishing classroom standards creates the tone of the class, provides clear
instructions for how to act, reduces incivility, and allows students and lecturers to
feel comfortable sharing their thoughts or points of view.

VII. ASSIGNMENT

1. “Not all students are the same and like all teachers you must be aware of and
respond to their differences.” What does the above statement mean? Explain. (10 pts)

Each pupil is distinct and individual. They come from a variety of backgrounds and
streams. Some people are sluggish learners, some are average, and a select few are
exceptionally bright. Some students are focused, while others are simply seated for the
sake of attendance. As a result, there is diversity.

Students learn in various ways. Some students are primarily visual, auditory, or kinesthetic
learners, or a combination of these learning styles. As a result, most lesson plans
incorporate a variety of interesting teaching tactics that can both appeal to and challenge
students who benefit from diversifying their learning modes.

Each student has their own “special things” that set them apart from their classmates.

And, in order to keep all kids involved, you should create questions that the students could
answer when they were called upon. Ask more difficult questions to individuals who have
proved their capacity to do so, and simpler questions to those who have less developed
talents. I’ve seen students light up in class when they know the solution to a question. A
nod of approval is also beneficial.

As a teacher, you should make an everlasting impression on your students’ relationships.


You ought to:

• Allow students adequate opportunity to communicate their ideas or points of view


by being a good listener.

• Make pupils feel comfortable and secure during class. It is simple to determine the
type of intelligence a pupil possesses and to assist them in developing their
interests. This will greatly assist pupils in pursuing their passions.
• To enhance a student’s morale, always utilize appreciation words.

• All students should be treated equally and given equal opportunity.

• Allowing them to make their own decisions on given projects or assignments within
the specified framework will make them more accountable. This can be done with
caution by holding conversations and dialogues.

• Assign varied responsibilities to introverted pupils and allow them to shine.
