1. Identify a person whom you know that could be characterized as having high
achievement motivation? What can be discerned that could help in the
description and explanation of his/her behavior.
Answer:
One person I know that could be characterized as having a high
achievement motivation is my younger sister who happens to be my co teacher
here in Canelar Elementary School in the name of Michelle. She is an ideal
teacher for me, because as I observed, she really does her work with
compassion, she always wanted to come to school early. She makes sure that
she is well prepared with her lessons before she teaches. She always sees to it
that her classroom is clean and in order. She diligently prepares her instructional
materials for her teaching. Whenever there’s a task given or assigned to her, she
always accepts the challenge and gives her best to do it. Currently she is the
grade level chairperson for Kinder and as expected I know that she does or
perform her role very well. She can really get well along with others, and has this
charming personality. She is a friend to all. She can manage to work on the spot
if her attention was called and you will never hear her complaining. I am really
proud of her. What makes it flattering for me, is when she said to me that I am
her inspiration. She also admires me the way how I worked in school. And not to
brag but I do consider also myself as having a high achievement motivation.

2. Would you rather work in an organization with theory X, theory Y or theory Z style
of Leadership? Give reasons for your preference

Answer:
Among the three different styles of leadership, I would rather work in an
organization with Theory Y or also known as the Participative (Democratic) style
of leadership. Working in an organization under this type of leadership, I think will
give me the chance to grow better since I can get well along with other members.
It is best to work with leader who will help me and make me feel that I am part of
the group or team because this will encourage me to do my work well and give
my best to the group. A participative type of leader guides you along the way
throughout the process. He ensures that there will be a collaborative working
ambience so that each member will be able to express and give their
opinions/ideas to make things right and to decide for the betterment of everyone.
In an organization with a democratic type of leader is open to solicit ideas from
his group member and listens to the ideas and suggestions of others. In this
manner it will be easier now for the leader to consolidate all our ideas and later
decides for the group, since he has already taken all our inputs. The spirit of
having a commitment within the group is something that matters in an
organization under the participative type of leadership.

3. Discuss your idea on organizational culture as applied to a given educational

services organization. What factors should be considered in creating
organizational culture in a diverse worker? Cite your factors to be considered and
explain why?

Answer:
It is imperative to understand the organizational culture in an educational
setting like the school because it is the place where we are working together with
other teachers. Learning and embracing the set of cultures that we have in our
school or institutions will help me work easily and comfortably. A diverse
organizational culture comprises of different beliefs and traditions. There are so
many factors to consider in an organizational culture with a diverse worker like
age, religion, gender, and etc. I guess one important thing that matters in an
organizational culture with a diverse worker is the respect to one another.
Respect is the best way that we can do to work harmoniously even with other
people with different beliefs.

4. From your personal experiences in your workplace what are the difficulties you
have encountered in dealing with different personalities? What behavior should
ideally be displayed to deal with such behavior.

Answer:
As far as my personal experiences in my workplace is concerned, there
are difficulties I have encountered most specially in dealing with different
personalities. I believe that each one of us has this unique personality and with
this, I do respect individual differences. However, sometimes because of
individual differences, we tend to have difficulties in getting along with others.
Like for instance, when someone misinterprets your thoughts or ideas, or when
miscommunication happens among members. The issues and concerns should
be address right away because these can lead to a greater problem if no proper
actions or communications were made.
I also have the experience working with some teachers whom you cannot
really rely on. I find it difficult to ask them to submit their reports on time. They
have this attitude of “Manyana” habit. It feels so disappointing sometimes. But I
manage to remain calm and positive. My behavior of professionalism helps me
manage to work with these types of personalities.

5. What are the reasons why we need to study human behavior in the organization?
Give at least 3 reasons and explain your answer.

Answer:

The study of human behavior has played a vital role in improving the lives
of people who have mental health and behavioral disorders. Professionals who
are interested in how to study human behavior are driven to know why people
make decisions, with the goal of better understanding the decision-making
process.
There are many reasons why it is very important to study human behavior
in the organization because an organization is managed by a leader with
members of different personality. Studying and understanding human behavior in
my opinion is very crucial.
The first reason why we need to study human behavior is because of what
people do on an organization and how their behavior affects the organization’s
performance. As one person gets into an organization, he/she will then observe
and study how each member work so that he/she can find ways how to fit in and
later he/she can make or do adjustments to get well along with others. The
member is as important as the leader because they both plays a crucial role in
the success of their organization. That’s why is it important that leader and
members have the same and common goal towards success. As a leader he
needs to look after the welfare of his member, because the success lies on the
hands or workforce of the members. Even if the leader is very much intelligent,
it’s all useless if he doesn’t have the ability to lead his members.
Secondly, another reason why we need to study human behavior is
because we need to understand what makes people make decisions or how
does one decide. Leadership styles can be a factor as to how they will come up
with their decisions and in doing so it can create a sense of commitment among
members if members were part of the process in making decision.
Lastly, the reason why we need to study human behavior is to scrutinize
very well the characteristics and personality of each member as they may
positively or negatively contribute to the success of the whole organization. It is
the leader’s biggest responsibility to know how well each member can perform
their work and how they can be of great help to the group. If the members are
well recognized by the leaders, they will be motivated to do their task always.
Once the members are highly motivated to work, there is a greater chance to
have a good productivity.
