(B) Mixed Tenses (10 Marks)

Complete the text with an appropriate tense of the verbs in brackets.

A few years ago, two copies of Isaac Newton’s Principia and a work by Galileo,

of the Rare Books Department of Cambridge University. Police interviewed staff but no

20. Gorge Bernard Shaw (1856 – 1950) was an English playwright. He won the Nobel
Prize of Literature in 1935. Shaw’s instincts were to refuse this honor, but his editor
persuaded him to accept it as a tribute to his publisher.
