    SUBJECT : 1st Progress re Clubbing Incident

    DATE : 20 January 2022


    1. References:
    a. Blotter Entries 2022-0010 and 2022-0011 dated January 20, 2022;
    b. IRF Number: 202210-0010;
    c. Spot report from this station dated January 20, 2022 subject same as
    above;
    and;
    d. 1st Progress from this station dated January 20, 2022 subject same as
    above.

    2. The above references pertain to the clubbing incident that transpired in


    Barangay 16 Quiling Norte, City of Batac, Ilocos Norte around 9:00 in the evening of
    January 10, 2022, wherein one Izabela Marie Galanza y Casidsid, legal age, married,
    housewife and a resident of the said barangay, was clubbed to death by the suspect
    Angelo Galanza y Juan, legal age, married, also a resident of the same place.

    3. Investigation disclosed that the suspect and his co-workers were having a
    drinking session at a Sari-sari Store in the said barangay, when the suspect saw his
    wife holding hands with his co-worker. The suspect was furious on what he saw. The
    following day, while the victim was sleeping, the suspect sneaked behind her and hit the
    victim with 24 inches baseball bat in her head that caused of her death.

    4. That at about 9:30 in the evening on January 20, 2022, investigators were
    able to get the Sworn Statements of the witnesses, while the cadaver of the victim was
    subjected for Autopsy Examination at the Provincial Crime Laboratory Office to
    determine the real cause of death.

    5. Further development will be sent to the Office when the case will be referred to the
    OPP

    6. Development progress will follow.
