Prodigy is an endeavour of Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies that strives

to embrace and promote entrepreneurship and its perpetual spirit among the young

minds of the coming generation. Through the last fourteen years, Prodigy has

established itself as the largest national management-based event for school

students to help them capitalize on their business acumen and knack for constructive

learning.

Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies is the front-runner in the field of

management and technology education. Operating under the aegis of the University

of Delhi, SSCBS has defined itself as a cognizable brand in the industry with its

unique courses, professional standing, and corporate interactions in the last three

decades. Today, it is one of the finest undergraduate business schools in the Asia-

Pacific region. SSCBS organizes its flagship annual national event - Prodigy, to

provide the students with an insight into the world of business. This year, Prodigy XV

offers a better dose of innovation, enthusiasm, and a series of heuristic events.

Being a symbol of learning, Prodigy provides a common platform for students across

the country to recognize the difference between theory and practice and

appreciate the importance of both. The events are conducted in a simulated

corporate environment and involve making real-life business decisions through stock

market simulations, corporate strategy, quizzes, and the like. We cordially invite your

Communiqué - The PR Cell of SSCBS

Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, University of Delhi

Established in 1987 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Shaheed

Sukhdev College of Business Studies, under the aegis of University of Delhi, has

pioneered business education in India. Popularly known as SSCBS or CBS, it is

placed among the elite business and management schools of Asia-Pacific. The high

standards of excellence give SSCBS the phenomenal and undeniable edge it is

recognized for.

The college is renowned for its unique ways of inculcating education and

emphasizing applications through presentations, internships, projects, case studies,

and the like. Every year, a rich harvest of business managers, financial analysts, and

management experts emerge from its portals to further add to the nation’s

corporate clan. Over the period of three decades, SSCBS has emerged as an island

of academic excellence.

The vision of SSCBS entails creating new frontiers of knowledge and standards of

achievement to bring out the managerial talent of students, provide opportunities to

embrace their latent skills, and develop leadership qualities to cultivate a positive

influence over society. Our mission is to provide an impetus to students in the area of

management training, education and research, and to build, expand and reinforce

the managerial skills needed to excel in this fast-paced era of globalization.

The college offers three elite courses in the fields of management studies and

information technology, along with a course in postgraduate diploma.

Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), the successor of BBS, introduces the

pursuant to the world of business, finance and management. It allows specialization

in the final year of graduation in either finance, marketing, global business

operations or human resource management.

Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance and Investment Analysis),

These courses stand apart because of the diversified course structure, mandatory

internships, and extensive corporate interactions. The admissions to the same are

routed through an entrance test (DUJAT) conducted by the University of Delhi. The

information technology department offers quality education through B.Sc(H)

Computer Sciences. Admissions to the course are done on a merit basis.

Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Security and Law, is an advanced level course

introduced to provide practical knowledge in the emerging field of cyber security

and law, in a simplified and easily graspable manner.

Prodigy is an initiative of SSCBS, in consonance with its philosophy of identifying and

honing the latent business talent of the youth, to channel their interests into a body

of intellect that adds to their management potential. The year 2021 witnessed the

fourteenth edition of Prodigy and the first international level edition.

Organized as a national level inter-school event, Prodigy consists of a series of

simulated levels of a competition that allow budding entrepreneurs, business and

finance enthusiasts to put their logical and analytical skills to the test, as well as pit

their knowledge of the world of business, economics and finance and innovation

against one another. It aims to demarcate the difference between theory and its

subsequent application outside the classroom, yet appreciate their beauty as one

through arduous rounds of problems such as resource allocation, strategy

development, team building, innovation, and persuasion. Every year, we raise the bar

a notch higher, by identifying the astute minds of the problem solvers and

constructing a sound foundation that balances theory and practice alike.

Since 2007, Communiqué has been organizing Prodigy as a means of

communicating the SSCBS aesthetic to the world, purveying various themes and

stimulations. Exciting and challenging case competitions, mind wrecking business

decisions, and a holistic experience that entices a desire to learn more, is what the

event has been serving for the last 14 years, and will continue to serve for many more

to come.
HOW CAN YOUR SCHOOL BENEFIT FROM IT?
1. Skill Development: We believe that theory is no good unless put to practice.

Consequently, we have designed simulations to optimize knowledge through

strategic decision making, parallel thinking, and concatenating ideas. Prodigy

identifies and sharpens critical thinking and creativity through such real-life

simulations.

2. Concept Building: The world cannot be written down, but it can be learnt. At

Prodigy, we work with strategies, concepts, and ideas that find use in the arena of

business. We aim to instill learning of the corporate world into the participants, foster

new ideas and bring about a change in their thinking.

3. Corporate Exposure: The rounds of the event are designed to simulate decision

making, strategy building and solving real-world problems. This facilitates discussions

to go beyond the classroom walls and stretch into the corporate world.

4. Nation-wide participation: Prodigy provides a platform for young minds from

across the country to pit their business acumen and creativity against one another

for the winning trophy.

5. Recognition: The participants are felicitated with certificates from the University

of Delhi.

GUIDELINES FOR PARTICIPATION

preliminary round. Every school must submit the names of four students and at least

one teacher-coordinator. The students have to be shortlisted by the school

authorities. Each school is allowed to register only one team of four students.

2. Participation is open to students of classes XI and XII across all streams. Students

require basic discernment, logical and analytical skills with a general knowledge of

business, finance, and economics to participate.

3. The preliminary round will consist of a quiz which is scheduled for 15th February

2022. The details of the same will be communicated to the registered schools. The

schools shortlisted after the preliminary round will be invited to the main event, which

is scheduled for 19th - 20th February 2022.

4. The main event and the preliminary round will be held on online platforms, details

of which will be provided beforehand. All participants will be recognized with

certificates of participation from the prestigious University of Delhi, with special

prizes for winning students.

5. The last date to register is 13th February 2022.
