PRE-START ENGINE INSPECTION
Make sure of the follow describe before start an engine fire pump.
 Verify manual valves suction pipe is open
 Check water level reservoir
 Check fuel oil level
 Check lub.oil level
 Check battery, battery cable and connect to engine
 Check coolant level
 Check main switch and circuit breaker

Turn main switch in OFF position
Turn circuit breaker in OFF position
 Check 220V.AC power supply to controller
 Check pressure switch
 Check shut down mode
 Controller wiring connected to engine junction box
 Fuel lines (both supply and return) connected to fuel tank and engine
 Engine jacket water heater connected to correct AC Power ( optional furnished )
 During an engine run, check instrument panel i.e. Oil pressure, Water
temperature gauge, Tachometer ( engine speed ) / Hour meter

PRE-START JOCKEY PUMP INSPECTION
 Check fuse of controller
 Check pump installation and fittings, accessories
 Check suction and discharge pipe, sensing line, vent pipe and priming pipe ( if
need )
 Check 380V.AC power supply to controller
 Check wire cable from control panel to motor driver
 Check wire connection in motor terminal box
 Pre-start to check motor rotation
 Prime water in suction side and water level reservoir are prompt

FIRE PUMP SYSTEM CHECK LIST
The fire pump is always ready to run in case of fire or emergency. Necessary inspection
procedure shall be done. These are describe certainly to prevent serious damage the
firefighting pump system.
 Always turn switch fire pump controller to the “Auto” position
 Verify and change pressure recorder paper (if applicable)
 Verify program test timer
 Read volt meter to check battery status
 Volt meter indicate must not less than 12.4 volt
 Check battery electrolyte level both battery #1 and battery #2
 Check water level storage tank
 Check coolant water level and refill if low
 Check fuel oil level in tank
 Check lube. Oil level
 Check both Heat Exchanger Auto loop line & Manual by-pass cooling line
 Check an engine speed
 Check exhaust pipe for any restriction
 Inspect pilot light and all wiring in the controller
 Testing standard control alarms function
 Check 220V A.C power supply connect to terminal L and N
 Limit maximum jockey pump run 5 times per day
 Check the piping leaks if jockey pump start exceed 5 times per day

FIELD FAILURE ALARM SIMULATION
Place the controller in the “Auto” mode.
Battery 1 failure : Turn breaker (CB1) in OFF or disconnect cable battery # 1 alarm will
sound. To reset alarm go to OFF mode
Battery 2 failure : Turn breaker (CB2) in OFF or disconnect cable battery # 2 alarm will
sound. To reset alarm go to OFF mode
Charger failure : Remove AC power from the diesel controller panel after
30 seconds delay, alarm will sound. To reset alarm go to OFF mode
High engine temp : Jumper 5 & 11 alarm will sound
Engine Overspeed : Jumper 3 & 6 or 3 & 8 alarm will sound To silence alarm, place
controller in the OFF mode.
Low oil pressure : Disconnect field wire 2, 9 & 10 and initial automatic start then an
engine will running. Jumper 2 & 6 or 2 & 8 after 15 seconds
delay alarm will sound. To silence alarm, place controller in the
OFF mode.
Fail to start :
a) Disconnect field wire 9 & 10 on fire pump controller & initial automatic start (place
controller in “TEST” mode)
b) Allow pressure to drop and begin cranking sequence
c) Wait for 180 seconds to allow for 3 cranks per battery (15 sec. cranking, 15 sec.
rest, 6 times)
d) Alarm will sound. To silence alarm, place controller in the OFF mode.
