Instructions WRT Assessment Day 1 IITM

Please see below all information relating to your assessment at Optiver on

Tuesday 10th August at 17:30 IST.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Make sure to use a laptop or desktop computer for the assessments and zoom call. You should have a
webcam (laptop cameras are also allowed). Tablets or mobile phones are not suitable devices.
It is your responsibility to have a good and reliable internet connection. You are not allowed to retake
the tests at a later stage if you encounter connection issues.
We will proctor the assessment day via Zoom. This means you can only proceed in our assessment
process if you meet the below requirements:
1. Make sure to join the zoom meeting in time. We will start the test promptly once the instructions
have been given. Please log into the zoom details a few minutes before your designated time. You
will by default enter a waiting room, and the Optiver host will admit you to the main session
shortly.
2. To be able to identify you, you must edit your zoom guest name to be your full name with roll
code. So this is the required format: firstname_lastname_roll Example: Kapil_Dev_190001234. Make
sure to set this up ahead of the assessment day.
3. Ensure that you have your camera on throughout the entire session.
4. Stay muted throughout the session. Everything should be clear from these written instructions.
We do not take any questions during the Zoom meeting. If there are urgent issues, you can use the
private chat function in Zoom. We only react on your chat if these issues are urgent & serious
enough.
5. Integrity! The purpose of the assessment is to assess your ability and see if you would be a good
fit for Optiver. This is as important to us as it should be to you. We know from experience that if
you do not pass these initial tests by yourself and without cheating that you will not pass the
selection process. There will be live follow-up assignments where we validate your test results by
going through different exercises. So please treat our process with common sense when it comes
to integrity. No help of others, no cheating. We take this very seriously.
Warning: coming late OR not having a camera on at all times OR not having the required zoom name
OR unmuting yourself would risk a disqualification from our assessment process.
You will be assigned a Zoom meeting ID by the PO latest a few hours before the test meeting. Make
sure you join the Zoom meeting that you have been assigned to.
TEST INSTRUCTIONS
• URL: https://app.zyvo.nl/auth/login/optiver
• Username: this is your university email account. Eg rollnumber@smail.iitm.ac.in If you
provided a personal email account when applying for the internship, please use that email.
• Password: this will be communicated at the start of the Zoom meeting.
INSTRUCTIONS ASSESSMENT DAY 1 IITK
After you log in on the Zyvo platform, you will see 4 tests:
Every test will first show a clear instructions page and some practice questions. Do take your time to
read these instructions very carefully.
For all tests the following applies: you are not in competition with your other students. We have norm
groups. You don’t need perfect scores; just try to do your best. If you pass the threshold that we
derived for the norm groups you will go through to the next stage.
1. You will start with the ‘80-in-8 test’.
The duration of the test is 8 minutes. Reading the instructions would take you a few minutes too;
take your time for that.
If you fail this test, the process stops immediately:

a. You will not be able to do the other 3 tests.
b. You can leave the Zoom call.
If you pass the test, the next test opens up, which is the ‘NumberLogic’. See snapshot below:
2. NumberLogic
The duration of the test is 25minutes. Reading the instructions would take you a few minutes too;
take your time for that.

If you fail the NumberLogic test, the process will stop immediately:
a. You will not be able to do the remaining 2 tests
b. You can leave the Zoom call.
If you pass the NumberLogic test, then you need to do the NeuroAssessment test.
3. Neuro Assessment test

This test consists of 9 short games. So it’s a combination of 9 mini-tests. All games have clear
instructions.
The duration would be around 60minutes in total.
4. ZAP-Q
This is a personality questionnaire, not a test. Note that we don’t look for very specific personality
profiles in Optiver. We value diversity. The main reason we like you to fill in this personality
questionnaire is to use it as input for the interview stage and when you are hired we will use this
during your onboarding so we can get you up to speed as soon as possible. The duration of this
survey is 25minutes.
Do not try to access the Zyvo platform outside the Zoom call. You will only be allowed to take the
tests once we have informed you to do so during the Zoom meeting. We will be notified once the link
has been accessed, and if this is before or after the zoom meeting, then this would disqualify your
application at Optiver. Please note you can only take these tests once, so make sure you are well-
prepared and your internet connection is stable. We expect that all the tests combined will take you
around 2 hours. Feel free to take a short break in between the tests. The Zoom meeting will have a
duration of 3 hours, which should give you plenty time to do all tests.
DURING THE ZOOM MEETING

When you log in, you will be automatically put in the waiting room. It’s recommended to log in early.
The Optiver host will let you in the main meeting at the start time. No further instructions are given.
Only the password to log in on the Zyvo platform is shared to everyone. The Optiver host will inform
you when you can begin the assessments. Everyone will start together.
The tests have sufficiently clear instructions, so we will not answer any questions during the zoom
meeting. In case of any questions related to the tests, think through how to address it yourself and
proceed. We will not be able to clarify any doubts on the tests. You must stay muted throughout the
entire session, to avoid disturbing your fellow students.
If anything is not clear in the above information, do reach out to the placement office before the
assessment, because we will not be able to facilitate any questions during the zoom meeting.
