1.2 Antenna Interface Module (AIM):


All UBT-S and UBT-T need an AIM to be installed on an antenna.

AIM-T has three types:


• AIM-T-C (Twin-Couplers): contains 2 diplexers + 1 Coupler (3dB)
- Main target configuration 2+0 Co-pol in one box

• AIM-T-O (Twin-OMT): contains 2 diplexers + 1 OMT


- Main target configuration 2+0 Alternate Polar (including XPIC) in one box

• AIM-T-D (Twin-Diplexers): contains 2 diplexers


- Main target configurations 2+0 with not integrated antennas and 4+0 XPIC with OMT-C.

AIM-T-C/O are integrated antennas


AIM-T-D is nonintegrated antenna (Flexi Twist guide needed)

Once active part (UBT-S/T) switch on, it retrieves information from RFID tag on AIM therefore no
need to fill manually of shift frequency.

1.3 Couplers:

Couplers are used to connect two of UBT-T with AIM-T-C to single polarization integrated
antenna to achieve 4+0 Co-pol configuration.

Couplers are used to UBT-S to Single polarization integrated antenna to achieve 2+0 Co-pol
configuration.

There are two types of couplers:


- An equal-split 3 dB /3 dB coupler. (Recommended for 2+0/4+0 Co-pol configuration).
- An unequal-split 3/3 dB coupler with nominal 1 dB/ 10 dB insertion losses om
main/standby paths.

1.4 OMT (Ortho-Mode Transducer):

OMT can be used for UBT-S (2+0 with/without XPIC) & for UBT-T with AIM-T-C (4+0 without XPIC).
OMT also an be used for UBT-m (1+0/2+0 with XPIC).
OMT used for double polarization antennas.
