• A.2 PARTICIPATION: Familiarizing with Rubrics or Scoring Guides

Rubrics as a terminology in education refers to the scoring guide used by the teachers in
evaluating the quality of students’ written or oral performance or output. Rubrics usually include
evaluation criteria, quality definitions for those criteria at a particular level of achievement and a
scoring strategy.
Study very well the rubrics used by your Cooperating Teacher in evaluating the quality of
students’ constructed responses to questions especially essays.
Take note of the evaluative criteria for scoring the learning outputs both written works
and performance tasks.

• A.4. DISSEMINATION: Snapshots of My Assessing of Learning

Performance

Having experienced assisting your CT in assessing students’ learning

performance, make an impression on your personal view on how important are rubrics in
assessing learning performance.

For me, it is true that the rubrics is very important in checking or assessing
the learning performance of the students. It is a great help to for us to easily navigate
the variations of the output of each student. Moreover, when crafting the content of
the rubrics, there are a lot of things that are need to consider; First, if it is clearly
stated on the students the content of the said rubrics. Next, if it is amenable to the
students. Also, if it is unbiased for them. And lastly, if it has a great impact on the
development of the learners.

Reflection
1. Does the scoring rubric for demonstration and FS courses will help you come with
better output?

Yes, it is very helpful for me especially when doing the task given by the
cooperating teacher. It is a great factor to really assess the output that I make whether
it is very useful and very informative. Moreover, it also serves as a guide so that I
can easily fill the discrepancies in the output that I created. Lastly, these rubrics can
help me to target the main points of the output wherein, it can be enhanced and
elaborated more.

NARRATIVE REPORT

In this week, constructive criticism is being establish in my mind. As a teacher intern,

experiencing on assessing the performance of the students is really a great task especially when
you don’t have a background yet. Also, as a job of a teacher, you have to lend your time to really
read and analyze the answers of the learners. Meanwhile, when Ma’am Luwy discussed the
rubrics in each learning experiences and episodes I totally understand the flow of checking.
Moreover, I feel the pressure when I check the learning experience because I need to dissect each
part of the file to fully understand the thought of the students. I also assigned to do a report
wherein, I need to add some remarks so that if the students have a concern, I can give them some
inputs about their concerns. Within four days of checking, I truly believed that the scores that I
input to them is the score that they truly deserved based on their submitted outputs. On the other
hand, when the presentation of the BPEd 2A is being presented in the class, most of them were
really presented well but they were really time consuming. Therefore, I realized that assessing
each student based on their capabilities is the best to consider specifically in this time of
pandemic. Lastly, I need to be considerate on the things that they done because at the end of the
they really appreciate the things that you’ve done for them.
