3. Link between Management and leadership.

The two terms are often used interchangeably; Management is often viewed as getting work done
through others to achieve organizational goals. Managers can react to specific situations and are
more interested in short-term problem solving. Management is considered to be concerned with
people working in a structured organization and with specified roles. The emphasis of leadership is
on interpersonal behavior in a broader sense.

Capable leadership is one of many products a successful manager must have. The leader can be the
manager, but the device manager is not necessarily the leader. Most importantly, the manager's
goal is to maximize the organization's output through the manager's performance. But the leader is
always looking for new possibilities and understanding the new possibilities in the organization.
Most team work is more loyal to leaders than managers.

Organizations hire managers and give formal authority to manage people and other activities to
accomplish organizational goals. Employees are happy to do what their leaders say because they
want to, not because they have to. Leaders may not have the power to ban bonuses to people.
However, employees effectively empower the leader by doing what they want. On the other surface,
managers can rely on formal authority to get employees to accomplish goals.

In terms of quality, management is formulaic, precise, detailed and involves operating tools and
often over time. Leadership, on the other hand, takes on a much broader meaning and involves
alignment, goal setting, shared vision, inspiration and the inherent lack of any given moment. Good
management covers the edges of leadership and good leadership covers the edges of good
management. A leader without management skills and a manager who lacks any leader is likely to
fail. In my view, management is a science and can be learned. Leadership, however, is an art.
Although some of the abilities required to be a macro leader can be continued over time, the
majority of great leaders who become macro leaders are born or at least , was learned much earlier
in life.

A successful organization cannot exist without strong leadership and great management. Over time,
an organization will need to expand its management team to keep up with the increasing number of
product deliveries. However, the leadership team will grow at a much slower rate or maybe not at
all. Too many leaders, like too many kitchens, spoil everything.

Although the difference between management and leadership continues to be debated, there is a
close relationship between us and it is not easy to separate them into separate activities.
Leaders and Managers can be compared on the following basis:
