computer. Double clicking a desktop icon enables to launch that specific program,
file or folder. Here are some of the common desktop icons:
PROGRAM ICONS
These icons contains an arrow and represent shortcuts to various

FILES ICONS
Icons that display a page are files. Double clicking that icon enables
you to open the file in the program that it was created in. If no arrow appears it
is not a shortcut and indicates that it is actually saved to the desktop.
Therefore, if it was deleted, so is the actual file.

with the recycle symbol on it. Double clicking this icon will open the recycle bin
window, allowing you to permanently delete or restore files as necessary.
2) Look for a new window asking you to browse the location of the file for which
you want to create the shortcut. You must choose the browse option and
browse the file location. As soon as you choose the location, the box will be
filled itself by the location.
7
4) Type a name for the shortcut. If a Finish button appears at the bottom of the
dialog box, click it. If a Next button appears at the bottom of the dialog box,
click it, choose the icon you want to use for your shortcut, and then click
Finish.
