matatalinong desisyon.

Keep in Mind
Suggested Time Allotment: 10 minutes

Your educational attainment is one way to achieve your career or future profession.
Being able to acquire knowledge such as the simple basic communication skills in written
and oral communication is very important since all work or profession will entail you to either
talk or write. It is advantageous if you are proficient in the English language or know other
languages as well. Oral and written communication is the way to speak our mind, share our
ideas, voice out our opinions for the betterment of our career. Scientific ability, on the other
hand is using our scientific mind in which we first try to identify the problem, analyze the
problem, hypothesize, test the solution to the problem, so you can come up with the actual
solution to the problem. Mathematical ability, likewise, is essential, it may not need for you to
be too keen on algebraic expressions, calculus, or other higher math, but the ability to count,
add, subtract, multiply and divide are basic mathematical abilities that are needed in any
profession you can think of. Reading comprehension as well is very basic. You should
understand and comprehend what you read so that you can come up with the correct
knowledge and information that you will relay to the people needing it. Finally, logical
reasoning is another form of knowledge that is very significant when it comes to any career
or profession. Logical reasoning is having the ability to think in relation to things either using
deductive reasoning or inductive reasoning so you can come up with a conclusion.

7
Other than knowledge, you should enhance your skills and develop the right attitude
towards one’s career or profession.
There are simple and practical ways to attain these types of knowledge, sharpen your
skills and manifest the proper attitude in order for you to reach your dream career or
profession in life. These are the following:

1. Discover your talents, interest, abilities and skills. It is very important to be

aware of what you have so you can match what you possess to the
different careers there are.
2. Study and research on the desired profession. When you are online, do
not just surf the net for games or other less important matter. Try to do
research on the career you want to pursue.
3. Talk to people or chat with people who are in their chosen profession or
field so they can share to you their relevant experiences in line with their
career.
4. Seek information about the track or strand that will equip you with the
knowledge, skills and attitude related to your chosen career or profession.
5. Participate in activities related to your profession such as volunteering
in community initiatives that may increase your knowledge, enhance your
skills and hone your attitude.
6. Make a career plan.
