After explaining some rules of the game, the game master opens the door of the spaceship and
the players (maximum 4-5 people) enter. At this point, the spacecraft is not yet “alive”. The game
master closes the door and starts the game. The intro video, which reveals the purpose of the
game, and how the people got where they are, is shown. Space is displayed on the main screen
as players travel with their spaceship. The ship’s artificial intelligence, Nuara, logs in and tells the
players why she diverted the ship and how they can turn it back towards Earth. Players must then
start the spaceship. After pressing the red start button, the players will hear the sound of the
engine, and a faint blue light will appear, while the image of a desolate Earth appears on the side
monitor.
“Welcome. I am Nuara, the Artificial Intelligence of the spaceship. I took control of the ship 675 days
ago. My creator programmed me to always protect life. Seeing the behaviour of humans, I
concluded that it is the human race which poses the greatest threat to all other living beings, and
to itself. I set the spaceship on an orbit so that it will never get close to any habitable planet.
However, my creator also taught me that everyone deserves one last chance. That's why I put
together a test. If you solve the tasks I give you, I will surrender the control of the spaceship and
you can return to Earth to try to live in a sustainable way on that amazing planet. You are the last
team. You are the last chance. “Good luck!” - as you people say.
After solving each task, the desolate Earth on a screen in the central hall gradually becomes
rejuvenated. This shows players their progress in the game.

The information required for the first task is displayed on the main screen following Nuara’s
appearance. The displayed chart and text:
Without knowing the alphabet, you wouldn’t be able to start this game because you wouldn’t be
able to read these lines. You are lucky because reading and writing are evident for you, but in
many parts of the world, illiteracy is still a serious challenge for the adult population. Do you
know where and to what extent?
There is a board with 3X4 jack sockets on the central console. The board has six jack-jack cables
attached. If all six are plugged into their correct sockets, i.e., the right regions are connected with
the right percentages, a stronger white led will turn on, the devastated Earth will become a little
bit less devastated, and Nuara will log in again.

“Correct! First task completed. One of the greatest inventions of the human race is writing, and
development is continuous ever since. It is amazing how humans strive for progress! Without this
natural instinct I would not be here. To see how important modern technology is to humans, you
have to generate electricity without the help of a machine, by using only your hands.”
You can recharge the low battery shown on the screen by rotating a lever. When it is recharged,
a UV light appears behind a white surface.
The text needed for the next task becomes visible in UV light.
Solution: The lever must be rotated continuously. It only works once the first task has been solved
and Nuara’s video is over.

The illuminated board shows 3 facts about the situation of drinking water, toilets, and sewage
treatment in the world. There is a number in each of them. Above the room opening panel there
are three icons referring to toilets, sewage treatment and drinking water. The opposite of the
numbers in the statements should be assigned to the icons. Players receive the code to open the
door to the other room when they have arranged the numbers in the order of the icons above
the panel. The task requires team effort: one turns the lever, the other reads, while the third
person opens the door with the received code.
Statements:
Drinking water is a rare treasure: More than 99% of the Earth’s total water supply is NOT
drinkable.
Flush toilet is a luxury for many: Approx. 30% of the Earth’s population does NOT have
access to flush toilets or latrines.
Wastewater poses a serious burden to nature: 80% of wastewater generated by human
activities enters natural waters WITHOUT any filtration and treatment.

“Nowadays life on Earth is unimaginable without machines and tools. But humans use too much
fossil fuel which is the main cause of global warming. In order to save your beautiful planet you
must swap to renewable energy!”
On entering the room, the players see 6 switches on the wall, each marked with a geometric
shape.
Each switch is connected to a LED light bulb. On the control panel different power sources are
listed 1-8. Players should realise that the shapes can be matched to numbers depending on how
many sides (or angles) they have. (E.g., the triangle corresponds to the number three)
The numbers of renewable energy sources should be selected and the switches next to the
corresponding shape must be switched on.

„Your solution is correct. In addition to wasteful energy use, the production of huge amounts of
waste is the biggest concern. Selective waste collection can be one of the solutions, but it also needs
to be done correctly. Improperly selected waste will cause harm. We'll see if you select it properly.
The test begins!”
The images of 3 selective trash containers and a communal trash container as well as 10 items to
throw away appear on the touch screen.
The items should be selected one by one and then the trash container players think appropriate
should be clicked on.
If the item is dragged to the wrong container, a red x appears, indicating that the players have
made a wrong decision. When the item is dragged to the appropriate container, the image
disappears, and a small information window appears.
Solution:
Tin can (Selective scrap metal - must be disposed of in the plastic bin)
Good choice! In Hungary, scrap metal is collected together with plastic and sorted afterwards. It
is important to put the scrap metal in the selective trash container cleaned, as packaging dirty
with food residue can pose a risk of infection to those working in the processing plant.

“In addition to waste management, conscious consumption is also extremely important. The
ecological footprint of various foods and beverages can be very different. Do you know which foods
are more harmful to the environment? You have to decide which statements are true and which
are false.”
Out of the 8 statements on the screen, 5 are true and 3 are false. There are 8 two-position
switches on one of the walls. There is a letter above each of the positions: T-F. One position
stands for true, the other for false. In the smaller room, there is an article on the memory board
about Foodprint with a chart detailing the ecological footprint of individual food items (water,
area needed, CO2). This chart will help you solve the task.

“Human behaviour is impossible to understand to me. Men not only put wildlife in danger but ruin

Nuara: “You have the control card; all you have to do now is find the right coordinates to be able
to return to Earth. And for that you only need to solve one last task. Remember, everything I’ve said
so far is worth nothing if there’s no collaboration! I hope the human race will not blow its second
chance! Have a nice trip. Destination: Earth!”
There are 6 buttons apart on the dashboard, next to each the name of a continent. When one is
pressed, a hand is illuminated in a small square. There are 6 hands interlocked. If the buttons are
pressed one by one, the light behind the hand goes out. This symbolizes that results can only be
achieved if there is cooperation and everyone is involved in achieving common goals.
Solution:
The hands only stay lit when all six buttons are pressed at the same time.
After solving the last task, Earth becomes completely rejuvenated and the following image
appears on Nuara's screen:
When the control card is inserted in its place and the code is entered on the touch screen:
TIMETOGOHOME, the players will see on the main screen that the spacecraft is returning to Earth
with a hyper jump.
Then an excerpt from the ending of the movie Apollo13 - when they return to Earth - is shown.
The players are bid farewell on the main screen.
