    Communication. In social communication we can not
    avoid genre. There are 4 topics in this module, they are:

    2. Exploring Descriptive Text 2 (Things & Places)
    3. Exploring Report Text 1 (Clasifying Report &
    Compositional Report)
    4. Exploring Report Text 2 (Comparative Report &
    Historical Report)

    This activity will stimulate the students to build their


    creative thinking. By analyzing the features, it also helps
    the students when they are going to compose descriptive
    text.
    But there is any misconception in this module because
    report text looks like descriptive text.

    Here are the differences between report text and


    descriptive text

    Report Text is classifying and describing general classes


    of phenomena. If the thing which is described in the text
    just the representative of the whole group of the thing
    mentioned, we can judge it as Report Text.

    Description Text is describing a particular living, non-


    living or natural phenomenon. If the thing which is
    mentioned in the text is clear about its name, we can
    make it sure as Descriptive Text.
