Considering the advances in modern medicine, especially epidemiology, as well
as the scale of global cooperation in the realm of public health and disease
prevention, why do you think we have failed in stopping COVID-19 from
becoming a full-blown pandemic? How should we prepare for the next new
disease to become widespread again? To answer that question, let us know first
what is Coronavirus ( COVID-19 ) and how it actually spreads. COVID-19 is an
infectious disease caused by Coronavirus, SARS-Cov-2, Which is an Respiratory
pathogen Originated or First Discovered in Wuhan,China. It can be transmitted
through droplets of saliva or discharge from nose when an infected person
sneeze or cough. Since CoronaVirus is like a simple cold many people does not
take it seriously when it started and that where the real problem start, because
Scientists says the Coronavirus spreads so quickly because many people do not
know they have it, since many of the infected people show mild symptoms or no
symptoms at all, or what the Scientists called “silent spreaders“....
(Shaman,2020) and that is the reason why the reason the Coronavirus become
a Global Pandemic and adding some negligence of the other people on
practicing the basic safety protocol for COVID-19 that is also the reason why we
have failed stoping COVID-19 becoming full blown pandemic not because we
don't have enough resources or knowledge its just simply coronavirus symptoms
are far to simple to be recognize and most the people just ignored it and did not
bother to take test or consult medical professionals. Like what happened here in
the philippines, we have many chances to prevent COVID-19 to enter our country
but the Negligence and ignorance of our Government especially the malacañang
people underestimating the pandemic that it can cause havoc,he insisted
allowing chinese workers to enter our country even though COVID-19 is
Spreading while our neighbouring countries lockdown or implied travel bans
coming from china, because the malacañang said that that they don't want to
offend China. And what do we expect ? by mid-march, Philippines became the
first country other than China to record a COVID-19 death outside Mainland,
and the Philippines response to COVID-19 is a tragedy of errors,
because the of Government failed plan and strategies by implying
military aid and action to solve global health crisis? Really ? and Even
the department of health saying that “ No need for mass testing “. we
have failed stopping COVID-19 in become a full blown pandemic here
our country because of the negligence and mishandling of our
government. So for me even though we have ground breaking medical
advances and breakthroughs if we do not have common sense none of
that will work and all of the hard work of medical professionals will be
just wasted. In order to be prepared to the next new disease widespread
again? We need to have good preventive measures, and Leaders and citizens
needs to listen in one another and learn to listen on medical professionals don’t
be naive just like our president. Use our common sense to avoid negligence
resulting to a tragedy or crisis, because personally i think philippines can handle
the fight for COVID-19 if we have listen to the medical professionals and we take
preventive measures earlier its just we are too reliant to other countries on
helping us. And we need be more careful and take precautionary measures when
we feel some thing is wrong with us seek professional help and trust the and let
them do their job.
