no vehicle area. This was essential to reduce the damage caused
by vehicular pollution to the painting of Ajanta.
7. To conserve and preserve monuments and natural resources in
the Ajanta Ellora region.2

5.4. Tourism Financial Prosperity

Today, we have seen many countries, because of the
development of the country's economic development, which has
developed only in our country. Singapore is one such example. There are
many places in Maharashtra where tourism can be developed. We should
develop development of this historic and natural beauty area. Local
tourists should be made from the tourism here; the locals should have a
means of financial revenues. If we do that, our culture will be maintained,
it will be appreciated.

Maharashtra has got a lot of glory. 750 km of state Take the

beach; take different types of forests and habitat of animals and birds, sea

Page 188
level, mountain range and forts. Take cool places, temples, Buddhists and
caves of Jain Dharmiyas. Hapus mango, Take Nagpur's orange juice;
specialize in various parts of the state, such as Maharashtrian cooking.
Take a sari of the Pune bank; take a special Paithani of Paithan. Take a
Ganpati festival of Maharashtra. Many people take voluminous collection
of books, texts. Seduce your balls and grapes and take a fight like a
bandage. Take Lezem, Lavani, Dhol-Tasha or GanpanaGanpati
Today tourists from abroad and abroad come here our
community, have a lot of history and this is a special attraction for foreign
tourists. The number of Indian tourists coming to Maharashtra is also
significant. But we still do not use our tourism capability as much as you
would like us to the fort fortresses that are not anywhere in the country is
in Maharashtra. Each of these caves has a very exciting history. You
cannot find a definite record telling us how many forts are in
Maharashtra.
There are 11 geographical indicators of Mahabaleshwar
strawberries, grapes of Nashik, Solapur kiosks in Solapur, Teri Tawla of
Solapur, Paithani of Paithan, Khanshaini of Nashik, PanganPagdi,
Nagpur's Orangi, Kolhapur Chappals, WarliChitra and Kolhapur jaggery.
The applications for Ratnagiri and DevgadHapus and
Beed'sSathfale are currently pending. There are many tourists visiting,
Verul, Bhaje, Bhalsa, Carla, Pandavalli and Pitalakhor to see the cave
today. But can there be more number of tourists. Do they get the facilities
they need? To enhance the beauty of that tourism site, what can be done
to highlight its features. Tourism gets handy work because of income; on
this occasion, our culture helps to consolidate and history can be
lightened. Our history remains alive for the next generation. But tourism
should not be seen as a net entertainment; there are many such objectives,
such as relaxation, change, new viewing and an opportunity to get it, but

Page 189
tourists should be able to achieve it.The state of Maharashtra is bounded
by Arabian Sea on the west and it has borders with the states of Gujrat,
Madhya Pradesh,Chattisgarh Andhra Pradesh and karnatka.3
In Maharashtra tourism lacks basic infrastructure. In the villages
and small towns of Pune, large numbers of migrants are migrating to
Pune, Mumbai and other big cities. Can tourism be promoted in
Maharashtra today and cannot we provide such a good environment.
Tourism is an important aspect of the development of the state
and the locals will be able to create a new tool of income and will also
help to preserve our culture. We must develop tourism to achieve this
triple purpose. The higher the participation of the growing population of
the cities, the development of that village / town can be done faster. Basic
amenities like roads, electricity, water etc. can be provided as soon as
possible with the thought of development of tourism. There will be no
additional stress on the city due to the inhibition of migration and due to
the youth staying in their respective places, it will also help in
development. It can all happen because of tourism development.

5.5. Plan for Tourist Destination Development

Some things should be undertaken to bring economic prosperity
through tourism. The work should be done to enable new places where
the tourism destination is the first place. Every tourist destination should
be developed according to the facilities available. Where priority is
available, it should be preferred.Where there is a tourism sector, but there
is a shortage of infrastructure facilities, the priority should be for those
places and the third priority should be developed for the places which are
tourism but not the infrastructure. In the following figure, the tourist
destination development priorities have been explained

Page 190
5.6. Tourism Development Model
Every tourist site should be categorized into tourism. Under this,
there should be minimum facilities as per below:
 Information Centres for tourists - Information about stay-food
facilities available here, brochures showing the historical,
geographical importance of the site should be available to the
tourists.
 There should be affordable accommodation for all financial
categories.
 Trained local guides should be available.
 Be the first to be an official centre for handicrafts and food sales.
 There should be plenty of clean and public facilities following the
standards set by the Central Government.
 Tourist spots for tourist places, e.g. Schedule, public facility,
information leaflet, etc. Should be.
 Have a proper cure and sanitation system.
Development of the tourist environment from the environment

5.7. Development of tourism – Mahabharaman' scheme:

In the past, there is now a very wide range of tourism that is
dedicated to God-view, that there is a need to say that 'tourism has to be
stabbed'. In the three main sections of the rainy season, summer and
winter, we can see the current tourist expansion. A lot of crew was
created in summer, crowds, graveyards, tour of the forest; summer march
Durg-fort, mountainous terrain is covered with a white fog Winter
ShaniNayanManohari Tourism also receives tremendous response.
'Mahabharaman' scheme is being implemented by the Maharashtra State
Tourism Corporation, through this vision, to develop new concepts of

Page 191
tourism, etc. and through this, employment generation should be provided
to the beneficiaries.
The main purpose of the Mahabalamban scheme is to provide
tourists with all the facilities by implementing a new concept of tourism
and from this perspective. The Corporation has started the scheme to
identify the variety of soil, culture and tradition of Maharashtra and to
give tourists a different experience than traditional tourism. The licensed
beneficiaries of this scheme are Junnar, Mulshi and Maval. However,
there is still a great scope to register for this march.

In Maharashtra, some farmers, private entrepreneurs and non-

government organizations are doing various experiments in the field of
tourism. From this there is a known identity of the multi-colored
existence of Maharashtra. Life style of the peacock linked to the soil, the
hail of leaf holes on the trek through the mountains and the hills, the heels
covered with trek, and the trekking experience Sahyadri clandestine
adventure, Challenges of the wild on the wetlands of the dense forest,
Games with the flow of the rivers, the discoveries of the ocean beneath
the unique universe, Art, Handicrafts, festivals and festivals of the tribal’s
are a unique experience of tourism.

The concept of Mahabharram is universal enough to take care of,

take care of them, and bring them to different levels of tourism in
Maharashtra, bringing such farmers, entrepreneurs and non-government
organizations under their shade mahabraman.

5.8. Role of Government’s in tourism development

This clearly indicates that the government has realized the socio-
economic significance of tourism development, therefore apart from
providing public services for all sections of society, the government has
another important role to play the role of referee or regulatory between
conflicting interests of society .This of course is a difficult role but if not
played will result in social chaos. Government’s regulatory role can be
examined in some of the relevant areas like environment security,
technological advances etc.
Tourism is a multi-sectored activity and the industry is affected
by many other sectors of the nation’s economy. The state has to therefore,
ensure intergovernmental linkages and co ordination. It also has to play a
pivotal role in tourism management and promotion, in particular, the
government has to-
 Facilitate availability of trained manpower particularly from
amongst the local population jointly with the industry.

 Undertake research, prepare master plans and facilitate

formulation of marketing strategies.
Page 195
 Provide public infrastructural facilities including local planning
and zoning arrangements.

 Organize overseas promotion and marketing jointly with the

industry.

 Facilitate the growth of a dynamic tourism sector.

 Plan tourism development as a part of the overall area development

strategy

 Create nucleus infrastructure in the initial stages of development

to demonstrate the potential of the area.

 Provide support facilities and facilitation services to private

enterprises along with appropriate incentives and land policies.

 Introduce regulatory measures to ensure social, cultural and

environmental sustainability.

 Ensure that the type and scale of tourism development is

compatible with the environment and socio-cultural milieu of the
area.

 Ensure that the local community is fully involved and the benefits
of tourism accrue it them.

 Include tourism in land planning. 5

5.9 .Objectives of tourism development:

1. It becomes a unifying force nationally and internationally fostering
better understanding through travel.

Page 196
2. It gives a direction and opportunity to the people of the country
through inbound, outbound and domestic tourism to understand the
geographical and cultural diversity of nation and regions as well as
the aspirations and viewpoints others so as to bring about a greater
national integration and cohesion.6
3. It offers opportunities to the youth of the country not only for
employment but also for taking up activities of nation building
character like sports, adventure and the like.
4. It brings socio –economic benefits to the community and the state
terms of faster economic growth, larger employment opportunities,
balanced development of backward areas and weaker sections,
higher tax revenue to the state and causes sustainable human
development.
5. It becomes a helpful energy for the protection and improvement of
our cultural heritage in all its manifestations and causes accrual and
force rather than break to our community.
6. It should become a major avenue for the people of India and other
countries to see feel and admire its magnificent attractions and
achievements including natural beauty, geographical and cultural
diversities, heritage of arts, crafts industrial, and scientific
progress.
7. It should also become a reason for better preservation and
protection of our natural resources, environment and ecology.
8. Above all, tourism should be capable to scheme the quintessence
of our culture so as to give our people a sense of unity and identity,
a broadening of their intellectual, economical and cultural horizon
and a sense of belonging and pride and for the international
traveller, tourism should create a better understanding of our land,
people and culture.

communication.7

5.10 . Role of private sector in tourism development:

Government of India ,alog with private sector must take concrete

steps in the improment and development of this nost of assets i.e. Human
Resource. 8 Tourism has emerged as the largest export industry globally,
the private sector has to consider investment in tourism from a long term
perspective and create the required facilities including accommodation,
restaurant, entertainment facilities, shopping complexes, etc in areas
identified for tourism development. In general, the private sector has to-

 Participate in the preparation of investment guidelines and

marketing strategies and assist in database creation and research.
 Involve the local community in tourism projects and ensure that the
benefits of tourism.
 Undertake industry training and manpower development to
achieve excellence in quality of services.
 Ensure safety and security of tourists

lead in green practices.

perspective. Build and manage the required tourist facilities in all
places of tourist interest.

standards, ethics and fair practices.

Page 198
5.11 Community development and tourism
To say about Maharashtra, the government's tourism policy
should be for the local people to get employment. Local people in Kokan
are involved in such tourism business. Agricultural tourism is a new way
of economic development in rural areas.
Every year 27 September is celebrated as World Tourism Day.
The United Nations World Tourism Organization has been celebrating
this day since 1980. The main event of the World Tourism Day is being
held in Guadalajara, Mexico.
United Nations organized the concept of community
development and tourism on the occasion of the tourism day. Strategies,
obstacles and solutions People outside of India are very less for
tourism. Some of the placements do not have any features. Due to political
unrest about tourism policies, Malaysia, Thailand, Bali, and Tajikistan
cannot become such a tourist centre.

5.12 .Tourism and community development

When you go for tourism, you enjoy the typical food of the
village. They buy famous land there. Therefore, the development of the
people is developing. While using the traffic system to see the places in
it, we are giving employment to many people, and only for the people, it
should be done just as financially as possible. The second point here is
that local people should not rob the traveller by telling him the price.
Because our culture tells the ATHITI DEVO BHAVE at the same way.
People travel to tourism in order to get relief from their work in urban
areas. Every year, some people are entertaining and they make tours
every year.
Tourism has a significant impact on much of the world .9 In the
last century, the concept of nation change and progress has become a

Page 199
spectator of the world's largest landmass, which has become the world's
longest-living tourism festival, hosted by Huang Tsang, Ibn Battuta and
Marco Polo. The tourists of Patti started singing in the form of coconuts
of local-regional-national-international boundaries.India is ranked 65th in
144 countries in the world for tourism. But at the same time, India is
ranked number 20 in tourism around the world. On the occasion of World
Tourism Day, Gyanjos and other major facts on the tourism sector of the
third largest industry.

5.13 Tourism business

Everyone feels comfortable for some time and for the family, for
the time being. The ferries of tourists are then arranged according to
the patchwork. However, the exact information of the tourist, travel
arrangements, there is not enough time for lodging and dining
arrangements etc. Then, on a travel company, we are all satisfied
with all these things. Of course, there are many amateur tourists who
make themselves perfect planning and arranging without the help of
such Travel Agencies. The business which provides the necessary
assistance and facilities to these tourists is 'Tourism business’. The
scope of tourism business is very big. This business can be
considered mainly in four categories.
1. Services related to Central and State Governments - Tourism

and 8.9% of total employment in 2013.10

separate categories-
2. Reservation (booking) departments- A person working in this

of the organizers and the absolute information about the tourist, the
knowledge of language, timing, mind-blowing nature, etc. are
required by good tour managers Guides- Guides are responsible for
providing tourist, historic, cultural, political, and social information
in fascinating styles. The Ministry of Tourism approves three types
of Guides such as Regional, State and Local. The Regional Guides
are required to get renewed after two years from the Ministry of
Labor. Guides can work for tour operators, hotels, local tourism

Page 202
departments etc. It is necessary for some groups to work as
individual guides (for example, researchers).
5. Government Tourism Department- Travel and tourism is the
largest earner of foreign exchange world-wide and employs
millions of people directly or indirectly through associated service
industries.12Two types of opportunities are available in the tourism
department of Central and State Governments. Directorate of

Guides, Sales-Marketing Staff etc. Officers for the 'operational'
work are the elected officials of Central or State Public Service
Commission examinations. Their work mainly consists of planning
for tourism planning, planning for business promotion, making
strategic decisions, whereas 'operational jobs' are actual

formulation of the programs. For these seats, the degree / post

advertisement has been published from time to time in
'Employment News’. Apart from this, Information Assistants are

helping tourists planning trip. They seem to be doing the work of
the form. Competition examinations are conducted for this post by
the Staff Selection Commission. Graduates in the age group of 21

addition to this, matters of Indian history, culture, tourism and
English dominance are also important. It is considered useful to
have a foreign language. Written examination and interview are
selected from these two stages. Advertising is published in
'Employment News'.

Page 203
9. Training: Many points are considered when choosing candidates
in private sector tourism companies. However, with the merit of
growing competition, there is more preference for graduation or
diploma courses in ‘Travel and Tourism’.

5.15 Following are the training institutes

1. ITA / UFATA Accredited Courses-, ‘ITA’ means 'International Air
Transport Association'. This institute was established in 1945.
Today, 256 airline companies are involved in this organization.
'Ufata' means the United Federation of Travel Agents' Association.
It is a global organization of travel agents and tour operators. Both
these institutions run a useful course in the 'Travel and Tourism'
area. These courses can be completed at four levels such as
Foundation, Consultant, Management and Senior Management.
2. Indian Institute of Tourism Ahmad Travel Management, Gwalior
In 1983, and this institution was established in Delhi under the
Ministry of Tourism of the Government of India. This organization
is working with the objective of providing trained manpower in
tourism sector. The following courses are run in this organization.

5.16 Entrepreneurship opportunity in tourism

There should be local residents run by the local people to give
food to the local food, the homestay should be made, local pheraro, art,
sports, dance music etc. Events planned so as to enjoy the kind of art, etc.
In many ways the local population can engage in some business related to
tourism.
 Visiting the food culture of Maharashtra can be the initiative of a
woman in the house given to tourists. The woman who gets the

Page 204
financial benefits for this will get it and she will be able to become
a homemaker professional.
 Bakharwadi, Padodiya and Khandari variety of food items in the
country can become an attraction for tourists. Apart from that,
there is a perfect dining table in that area.
 Homestay ideas can also be implemented on these lines. Many
people, especially foreign tourists, are curious about the lifestyle of
the locals. These visitors may have the convenience of staying for a
couple of days for the local people on their trip. This facility can be
done at the home of the people of the village. Businessmen can get
foreign workers from these simple things like mine-to-house-
clothes.
 Each village or district has its handicrafts, sculpture, and dance and
music culture. This art can be displayed in front of the tourists.
Samples of local dance, music and folk songs can be presented for
tourists. Handicrafts, sculpture, durable food items, ornamental
items etc. made by local people 'S sales centers can be set up. On
that occasion local artists will get the opportunity and local art will
be alive.
 If the tourist is in the area, the farmers there can organize agro-
tourism. Considering that things like farming, farm work, etc. are
attracting tourists from across the world, Sankrant, Hulga,
Nagpanchami, Tripuri Purnima, etc. Tourists can be involved in
similar festivals.
 3 elements to make the development of tourism in such a way that
by keeping the environment balanced, local employment
generation, and promoting the culture and culture of the
entrepreneur. By keeping these 3 elements in mind, Maharashtra
should do the following things to fully develop tourism capability –

Page 205
The discovery of tourist sites - There are many popular places;

Asian Nations, and fulfilling the diversity of nature's beauty found in
Malaysia, which has become the highlight of the world tourism map,

same time, Indian tourists are increasing the foreign exchange reserves by
various attractive tour packages.

tourists where the country's multilateral objectives are met. According to
our financial statements; the countryside enjoys the enjoyment of the
country's geographical areas, which are now being considered by the
tourists. Travelling on glossy papers and tourism magazines - Weeks
have never been such a good day, TRPs are showing an increase in
tourism channels. Domestic tourism has increased in the last decade, but
domestic tourism does not seem to have required economic activity.
