What are the five steps of O.B. Mod.?

Briefly summarize the critical dimensions of each

step that will help improve employee performance.

Answer

The five steps of a typical OB Mod program are:

1. Identification of Critical Behaviors,

2. Development of Baseline Data,

3. Identification of Behavioral Consequences,

4. Development and Implementation of Intervention Strategies and

5. Evaluation of Performance Improvements.

1. Identification of important behaviors-Identification of important behaviors that have a

significant impact on employee performance

2. Criteria data development-Administrators need to develop some basic performance data.

This can be obtained by looking at the number of times the identified behavior occurs in the
current situation.

3. Perform specific-function analysis of the outcome of a behavior to identify behavioral

contingencies or performance. This informs the manager of the preceding cues that trigger the
behavior and the consequences of maintaining it in the present.

4. Development and Implementation of Intervention Strategies—Develop and implement

intervention strategies to reinforce desired performance behaviors and attenuate undesirable
behaviors.

5. Assessing Performance Improvements - This final step is to evaluate performance

improvements.

Summarize the results of the meta-analysis on O.B. Mod. What recommendations

would you make to the HRM department based on these findings?

Answer

The primary meta-analysis results indicate a significant main effect of the organizational
behavior modification (OB Mod) approach on task performance (d = .51; 17% increase) and
significant treatment by interaction of studies. To account for group inhomogeneity of
effective amounts, a two-level theory-driven operator analysis was conducted by first
dividing the sample of the study into manufacturing and service groups, and then into 7
classes of reinforcing interventions. As a result, O.B. showed a stronger average effect. by
MOD. In manufacturing organizations, the difference in “peawise” between mitigation by
type of contingency and the average effective amount of the two tissue types.
Recommendations would you make to the HRM department based on these findings:

1. Providing security to employees

2. Optional recruitment: Hiring the right people

3. Self-managed and effective team

4. Fair and performance-based compensation

5. Related technical training

6. Creating an egalitarian organization in a flat

7. Making information easy to access by those who need it
