    Stages of the collection of the Quran

     The stages of the collection of the Quran in the prophet’s era/reign


     2 Forms of collecting the Quran: 1st stage
    o Writing
    o Memorizing
     The features that characterize the collection of the Quran in the reign of Abu Bakr
    and Uthman
     Questions (may be in the exam)
    o 1. Why wasn’t the Quran piled in one book in prophet Muhammad’s reign
    o 2. What was Zaid ibn Thabit’s role was in the collection of the Quran
     During the prophets area he was the scribe
     Abu Bakrs era he helped compile it
     Uthman era he helped create the mushaf
    o Abu Bakr gave orders to compile the Quran,
     Zaid ibn Thabit started compiling with the two ways, during the reign
    of Abu Bakr
     Ordered the other copies to be burnt Uthman bin, made 7 copies, and gave it to the
    other 7 cities, they were in different dialects, wanted to make sure that everyone
    was pronouncing it the same (all in the textbook)
     Quranic proof that allah would guard the quran:
    o It is we who have sent down the quran and surely we will guard it from
    corruption, Surah al Hijr

    Waqf
     Definition of Waqf: The act when a person allocates something for the benefit of the
    people. He doesn’t sell it, or give it as a gift
     Benefits: All of the revenue has to go back to charity
     Importance of waqf in Islam
    o Memorize the hadith (the one in the presentation, if you die, the three would
    continue)
     A person who established waqf in the seerah
    o Omar bin Khattab, one of the companions who did waqf in the seerah
     The conditions of establishing waqf (ex. You should have certain things in order to
    enable you to handle the financial expenses, in the UAE you should get the
    permission from the UAE something)
     Types of Waqf, page 80 in the textbook
    o Waqf al ahli (family)
    o Charity
    o Joint (combines both ^ together)
     Differences between the types
     Importance of Waqf and the effect it has on the individual and society
    o Society
     One of the main reasons is to add more equality, make the rich
    donate so the poor also gain benefits.

    Prophets method of taking care of his family


     How did the prophet take care of his family based on the principles
     The components of building a family
     In the book and presentations, look at it to practice
     How did prophet Muhammad deal with problems with his wife
    o Incidents when one of the wife prepared a meal, and it was not accepted by
    the other wife
    o So she threw the meal on the floor
     How did the prophet deal with that

     Trust to break down the barriers


     Be open with one another, and communicate
     Treat each other as equals
     Respect each other and the boundaries
     One partner should not be dominating (the prophet would clean the house, even he
    was a big man he would clean the house)

     One of the main stages of a society is the marriage they just rush into marriage, and
    they resort to a divorce

    (Memorize one hadith from each lesson to give as evidence)
