Time Cost Trade-Off Assignment

QUESTION (1):

Assume the following project data given in the table. It is required to crash the project duration from its original
duraon to a final duraon of 110 days. Assume daily indirect cost of LE 100

QUESTION (2)

The durations and direct costs for each activity in the network of a small construction contract under both
normal and crash conditions are given in the following table. Determine the optimum duration of the contract
assuming the indirect cost is LE 125/day.
QUESTION (3)

The following table gives the activities involved in a pipeline contract. The duration and cost data are also given.
The indirect cost for the contract is LE120/day. Calculate the minimum cost of the work corresponding to
contract duraon of 102 days.

QUESTION (4):

Cost and schedule data for a small project are given below. Assume an indirect cost of LE 200/day. Develop the
time-cost curve for the project and determine the minimum contract duration
QUESTION (5):

The following information is for a small construction project

a) Reduce the project duration to the possible duration with the minimal increase in project cost
b) If the indirect cost is 1800 L. E/ week, calculate the total project cost at normal me, and crashed
time
c) Draw curves for direct cost, indirect cost and total project cost vs. time, what is the optimum
project duration

QUESTION (6):

The following information is for a small construction project

a) Reduce the project duration to the possible duration with the minimal increase in project cost
b) If the indirect cost is 2000 L. E/ week, calculate the total project duraon at normal me

The following informaon is for a small construcon project. If the indirect cost is 3000 L.E/week, Contract
period is 75 weeks, the penalty for late submission is 2000 L.E/week
Required:
a) Calculate the total project duration at normal time.
b) Reduce the project duration to the smallest possible duration with the minimal increase in project
cost.
