RECAP
We have learned that feature article is a creative article that deals with
real events, issues and trends. However, unlike news articles, it places more
emphasis on the people involved rather than on the facts of a news.
We also learned that a feature article has 4 parts, the title, introduction,
body and conclusion. In this self-learning module, we will dig in deeper on
how to write a feature article.
6
LESSON
Writing a feature article allows you to express your opinion using a fact-
based argument leading to a particular purpose. Today, we will be writing a
three-paragraph feature article with a topic about health.
Since the title is the first thing that your readers see, make it eye-
catching and fun. Also, try to keep it short, 2-8 words are enough. Remember
that all the first letters in a title should be capitalized except for the articles,
conjunctions and prepositions.
7
End with a Bang!
The last part is the conclusion. It is the summary of the whole article.
You may give your stand or opinion and you can also make a prediction.
Just as how you gave a thought-provoking statement in the introduction,
make sure to also end and close your feature article with the intention to
transform your readers’ mind and actions.
Guided Practice
We will organize our feature article first by using the graphic organizer.
My topic is…
The benefits of exercise.
My lead
Question: Do you exercise regularly?
Interesting Fact: Children do not exercise anymore
because of video games and other online entertainment
activities.
Now that I have determined my PAT, my whys and the details I want
to include in my feature article, I will now write the draft.

As you can notice on my draft, I have deleted sentence number two from
paragraph one. I decided to put that statement instead in the conclusion.
After I have made my correction, I will now proceed to writing my final article.
