    Chapter 1

    THE PROBLEM AND IT'S SETTING

    Introduction

    The research entitled " Factors Why Students in Southern Inabanga High School
    Do Cut Classes " because they wanted to discern and take deep exploration concerning
    the behavior of different individuals, specially the junior and senior students who
    manage cutting classes and how such deed affects their academic performance.

    Educational institutions are not only for mental sacrifice and mental quotient
    feed backs but also for correcting , disciplining any firms of behavioral, moral, and social
    problems being faced by the students. The researchers are very certain and confident
    to say that students' problem has enough period of growth and development. This
    development start at the comfort of their homes and families. Thus, it result to that of
    the school institutions becomes the " scapegoat " for their problems. Consequently,
    teachers, and school administrators have to face a f shoulder all sort of problems from
    their respective students. Such I'd considered as the most burdensome for any school
    teacher and staff.

    The researchers all know that this is the stage where most of the students are
    beginning to be curious about life. This is where most they start came out from their "
    comfort zone to explore life and make their own decisions.

    Every time a student cuts class, it's inevitable that they are also cutting their
    education. It is said that going to school is like having a job, they mostly alike in such
    reason that you get paid with knowledge.

    An effective education abet everyone and aids them in getting a job worthy of
    their hardwork. Just as a saying goes, " with a good job, you'll have a good life, but by
    having a better job, you'll have a better life.

    Having a suitable and profitable job will not only benefit you, but also your
    family in which in tum will help them carry out a bountiful life.

    Researchers would like to know what triggers the students to do cutting


    classes. Also, to be abreast regarding the satisfaction the students get. As well as to
    know how the problem affects the academic performance of the said respondent.

    The respondents chosen are the Junior and Senior High School students of
    Southern Inabanga High School, Dagohoy, Inabanga, Bohol.
    Statement of the Problem

    This study aims to help the students as well as their parents and teachers address the problem in it's
    early stage to avoid much greater problems in the future.

    Specifically, this study seeks to answer the following questions:

    1. What are the reasons why students are always cutting class?
    2. What are the ways to prevent cutting class?
    3. What are the effect of doing cutting class?
    4. How the cutting class affecrlt the academic performance?
    5. Are they aware to the consequences when it comes to their grades?

    Scope and Delimitation

    This study will focus on the reasons why students are fond of cutting class. The ways to prevent this
    problem. Effects to the students also in their parents and in school of doing cutting class. How cutting
    classes affect the academic performance of students.

    The study conducted in Southern Inabanga High School, Dagohoy, Inabanga, Bohol this February 2018.
    The students of the Junior High and the Senior High are the participants in this study. This research
    paper studies about the cutting classes of students.

    Significance of the Study

    This study is significant to:

    1. Students
    The students would be able to go to school on timel. They would become more responsible. This
    study will help the students to attend their classes regularly since this will provide them factual
    information about the benefits that they can acquire in attending school. It will also provide
    information regarding the disadvantages of cutting classes. Students must be aware that this
    actions must be taken seriously
    2. Parents and Guardian
    Parents could encourage their children to go to school on time. It is to know how their
    sons/daughters behavior in school. Likewise, this would give the the opportunity to help guide
    their sons/daughters in dealing with problems thatay affect their performance especially wit
    regarde to their academics.
    3. Teacher and Principals
    They could help each other in implementing plans in helping the students to go to school early
    4. Future Researchers
    The conducted studies will further open doors for future researchers to refine and expand
    students in relation to cutting classes. This may serve as a source of information about what
    provokes students to cut class and the effects on an individuals academic performance.

    Purpose of the Study

    The sole purpose of the study is to determine the reasons why junior and senior students cut in their
    classes.

    Researchers would like to know what triggers the students to do cutting classes. Also, to be abreast
    regarding the satisfaction of the students gets. As well as to know how the problems affects the
    academic performance of the said respondents.

    The respondents chosen are the junior and senior students of Southern Inabanga High School.
