Previous CBS Operations were not successful due to

 Inter-modal Competition

Makes Organized Public Transport Services non-viable.

Leads to chaos – speeding of vehicles.

Learning from previous experiences rational segregation of

route structure for collective viability of entire public
transport system was conducted.

The detailed traffic volume surveys, O/D survey, B&A survey,

opinion survey were taken up.

LIMITING INTERCITY BUSES TILL
REGIONAL BUS STANDS

Bhopal Attracts 500 Intercity Buses carrying about 100,000

commuters.

Preventing all 500 intercity buses coming to Nadira Bus stand

situated in the core old Bhopal area , thus affecting city bus
operations and resulting in the congestion of city roads.

As Recommended in Route Rationalization study Divisional

Transport Authority Limited these buses till regional Bus stands .

Sr. No Description Name of Bus stand

01 Buses Coming From Raisen, Sagar, Mandideep Interstate Bus Terminus

02 Buses Coming from Indore, Rajgarh Halalpur Bus stand

03 Buses Coming from Sironj, Lateri Putlighar Bus Stand
04 Buses Coming From Neelbud Jawahar Chowk Bus stand
05 Buses Coming from Vidisha Nadira Bus Stand
DIVERSION OF MINIBUSES TO
COMPLEMENTARY/IPT ROUTES

After Route rationalization permits of 277 Minibuses were

cancelled, and diverted to Complementary Routes(CR)/IPT
Routes which are earmarked for Minibuses.

 Diverted Minibuses Joined Complementary/IPT Routes

which is feeder service of Trunk route & standard route.

Providing Complementary/IPT Route Permit to minibus

operator secured the livelihood of about 750 drivers &
Conductors of minibuses

Some Minibus/Tata Magic Operators shifted their vehicles

outside Bhopal city owing to less profitability with the start
of BCLL new buses.
