    IELTS WRITING TASK 2

    Motor vehicle crashes are one of the leading causes of teen deaths. To prevent such road
    accidents, the government should ban people under 24 to drive motorcycles.

    To what extent do you agree or disagree?

    The more the society develops, the more issues are immersing and one of the major problems
    that gain attention of most people is the traffic accident in general and motor vehicle crashes in
    specific. Motor vehicles are blamed for the main cause of teen deaths with the result that the
    government should prohibit anyone under 24 from driving motorcycles in order to stop the road
    accidents. From my perspectives, I totally disagree with this proposal for some reasons.
    First of all, people from 18 years old are mature enough to be aware of their actions and
    understand traffic laws. Moreover, in many countries, at the age of 18, people can live
    independently, enjoy their human rights and decide the way they live. As a result, it is
    unreasonable for the government to ban people under 24 to drive motorcycles since it takes away
    the freedom. Using motor cycles does not cause harm to anyone if they drive with care and
    consciousness. Instead of, people under 18 must be prohibited to use motorcycles as teenagers at
    this age are too young to control their actions and they always desire to express their personality
    regardless of potential dangers.

    Additionally, it is absolutely inconvenient to ban people under 24 years old t drive motorcycles
    as from the age of 18, people are supposed to use their private vehicles to commute to work or go
    to school. Without their personal transport, they have to depend on public transportation or even
    ask their family members to pick them up, which is very time-consuming and uncomfortable.
    They fail to manage their work and life easily. Furthermore, people find it very annoying to take
    a bus or taxi to travel over a short distance to purchase grocery compared to the convenience of
    motorcycles.

    Moreover, it is thought that limiting the age of drivers is not the only effective way to restrict
    road accidents. The government is supposed to enact strict laws to warn all kinds of driver such
    as motorcycle, bus, car and truck drivers. In reality, a large number of road accidents are caused
    by drunk car drivers, careless and drug- addicted truck drivers. There must be very harsh rules
    such as forfeiting the driver license rather than just asking them to pay an amount of money.
    In conclusion, it is believed that the age of using motorcycles should be from 18 and the
    government have to seek for other feasible resolutions to solve the severe road accidents
    occurring every day and kills many lives. As a member in the society, everyone should obey the
    traffic laws and be responsible for themselves and others.
