Quarter 1 – Week 2 - Module 5: Specific Work Areas of a Counselor

Specific Work Areas of a Counselor
Previously, the different roles and functions of a counselor were discussed. In this
module, the discovery of their work settings will be introduced.
At the end of this module, you are expected to identify and appreciate the specific
work settings of a counselor. Specifically, you are projected to exhibit the following
competencies:
1. familiarize oneself with the different specific work areas in which counselors work;
2. identify the main roles and clients of counselors in each specific work areas;
3. visualize and present career opportunities for counselors about their work areas
you think will be easy for them to do;
4. value the work of a counselor through an appreciation note.
To give you a solid understanding of specific concepts along with roles and
functions of social workers, here are some important terms you should bear in mind before
proceeding with the mental stretching activity in this module:
