1. KIDNEY DISH, medium, 250x140x40mm,

stainless steel - is a shallow basin with a kidney-

shaped footprint and sloping walls used in medical

and surgical wards to receive soiled dressings and other medical waste. Reusable kidney

dishes are usually made of stainless steel, while disposable ones may be made of paper

pulp or plastic. The shape of the dish allows it to be held against the patient's body to

catch any falling fluids or debris.

2. SCISSORS, MAYO, 17 cm, curved - allow

deeper penetration into the wound than the type

with straight blades. The curved style of Mayo

scissor is used to cut thick tissues such as those

found in the uterus, muscles, and foot. Mayo scissors used for dissection are placed in

tissue with the tips closed. The scissors are then opened so that the tips open and spread

out the tissue during the dissection process.

3. FORCEPS, TOWEL CLAMP, BACKAUS, 13 cm -

is a perforating clamp used for grasping tissue,

securing towels or drapes, and holding or reducing

small bone fractures.

4. FORCEPS, SPONGE, FOERSTER, 24cm, serrated

jaws, straight - used to hold swabs or sponges for

mopping up the site. This involves a scissor-type operation with ratcheted handles. The

blades are loops with serrated opposing faces and the forceps may be straight or for

better visibility of the site, curved. The most common medical area to utilize sponge

forceps is gynecology. They are often used in surgical female sterilization procedures,

such as the insertion of an intrauterine device. In such cases, curved forceps are

generally recommended.

5. SPECULUM-RETR., KALLMORGEN, size 1 / 70x40mm, set of

2, vag. - used to retract the walls of the vagina to examine the

anterior, posterior and lateral walls of the vagina during pelvic

examination, pap smear, urinary tract sensitivity and culture and

vaginal biopsy. The instrument has a singular blade attached to a

handle which is held by the non-dominant hand. It is inserted into the

vagina while the procedure is performed with the dominant hand. The blades of the

Kallmorgen Retractor are available in different sizes including 70 by 33 mm and 90 by

33 mm.

6. SPECULUM-RETR., KALLMORGEN, size 2/ 90x40mm, set of

2, vag. - used to retract the walls of the vagina to examine the

anterior, posterior and lateral walls of the vagina during pelvic

examination, pap smear, urinary tract sensitivity and culture and

vaginal biopsy. The instrument has a singular blad e attached to a

handle which is held by the non-dominant hand. It is inserted into the vagina while the

procedure is performed with the dominant hand.

7. SPECULUM, AUVARD, 240 x 75 x 38 mm, vaginal, with weight -

The auvard weighted vaginal speculum is called thus since it is used

inside the vagina. It comes with a weight which can be separated for use.

This speculum has one blade and it helps in keeping the vagina open so that the

gynecologist can work with both hands free.

8. DILATATOR, UTERINE, HEGAR, double-

ended, set of 8 dilatators - are a set of metal rods of

increasing diameters, from a few millimeters up to

26 millimeters. The rods are round, slightly curved,

and have a conal tip. Some sets have conal tips at

both ends, while others have one end flattened for

handling. Hegar dilators are marked with a Hegar

number equivalent to 0.5 millimeters. Hegar dilators are used to induce cervical

dilation in order to gain entry to the interior of the uterus.  It is widely used in

gynecology to open up the cervix. This may be necessary prior to a uterine curettage or

biopsy.

9. SOUND, UTERINE, SIMS, 32 cm , rigid -

inserted into the woman’s uterus from the cervix so

that the length of the uterus can be determine and to find out what direction the uterus

and the cervical canal take so that it can be determined the amount of dilation which has

already taken place and to even further the dilation to the amount which is required.

10. FORCEPS, SEIZING, POZZI, 25 cm, tenaculum,

straight - used to hold the cervix during intrauterine

procedures.

11. FORCEPS, SEIZING, KELLY, OVARY, 32

cm, 18 mm jaws, curved - mainly used to

remove conception products from the vagina and

to do a curettage.

12. CURETTE, UTERINE, RECAMIER, 8 mm wide,

rigid, sharp - used to remove endometrial tissue for

diagnostic purposes.

13. CURETTE, UTERINE, RECAMIER, 11 mm wide,

rigid, sharp - used to remove endometrial tissue for

diagnostic purposes.
14. CURETTE, UTERINE, RECAMIER, 14

mm wide, rigid, sharp - used to remove

endometrial tissue for diagnostic purposes.

15. CURETTE, UTERINE, RECAMIER, 8 mm wide, rigid,

blunt - used to remove conception products from the uterine

cavity.

16. CURETTE, UTERINE, RECAMIER, 11 mm wide,

rigid, blunt - for removal of retained products of

conception from the uterine cavity.

17. CURETTE, UTERINE, RECAMIER, 14 mm wide, rigid,

blunt - used to remove conception products from the uterine

cavity.

18. CURETTE, UTERINE, RECAMIER, 16 mm wide, rigid,

blunt - for removal of retained products of conception from the

uterine cavity.

19. CURETTE, UTERINE, RECAMIER, 20 mm wide, rigid,

blunt - used to remove conception products from the uterine

cavity.
20. BASKET, STERILIZING, 480 x 255x 100mm, + lid - A

sterilization basket is a perforated container for storing and

sterilizing medical instruments and consumables.
