Welcome to the Welcome to the Technology Livelihood Education (TLE) Technical


Drafting 7/8 Self-Learning Module (SLM) on the Maintain Hand Tools, Drawing
Instruments, Equipment and Paraphernalia!

This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators both
from public and private institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator in helping
the learners meet the standards set by the K to 12 Curriculum while overcoming
their personal, social, and economic constraints in schooling.

This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent
learning activities at their own pace and time. Furthermore, this also aims to help
learners acquire the needed 21st century skills while taking into consideration their
needs and circumstances.

Drafting 7/8 Self-Learning Module (SLM) on the Maintain Hand Tools, Drawing
Instruments, Equipment and Paraphernalia!

The hand is one of the most symbolized part of the human body. It is often used to
depict skill, action and purpose. Through our hands we may learn, create and
accomplish. Hence, the hand in this learning resource signifies that you as a learner
is capable and empowered to successfully achieve the relevant competencies and
skills at your own pace and time. Your academic success lies in your own hands!

This module was designed to provide you with fun and meaningful opportunities for
guided and independent learning at your own pace and time. You will be enabled to
process the contents of the learning resource while being an active learner.

This module was designed and written with you in mind. It is here to help you master
the (Maintain Hand Tools, Drawing Instruments, Equipment and Paraphernalia
(MT)). The scope of this module permits it to be used in many different learning
situations. The language used recognizes the diverse vocabulary level of students.
The lessons are arranged to follow the standard sequence of the course. But the order
in which you read them can be changed to correspond with the textbook you are
now using.

What is It

PROCEDURES IN RECEIVING AND STORING TOOLS AND MATERIALS

Definition of Terms:

Receipt - an acknowledgement document (usually tangible) that payment has


been made.
Items (tools/ Materials) - a distinct part that can be specified separately in a group
of things that could be enumerated on a list.
Number (No.) - an arithmetical value expressed by a word, symbol, or figure
representing a particular quantity used in counting.
Quantity -the number of tools or materials.
Serviceable - being capable of service or useful.
Not Serviceable - not good enough to be used for a particular purpose.
Remarks - a statement about you notice.
Property Custodians - are the individuals responsible for the physical custody, care,
and safekeeping over property in their possession or under their supervision.
Inspection- the act of looking at something closely in order to learn more about it,
to find problems, etc. : the act of inspecting something.
Procedure- a step-by-step sequence of activities or course of action (with definite
start and end points) that must be followed in the same order to correctly perform a
task method.

Supply officer - oversees financial and management matters relating to stock
supplied or received in an organization, business or company.
Report- an official document that gives information about particular subject.
Damage- problem that is caused by a mistake, wrong action.
Purchase Order (PO) – a commercial document and first official offer issued by
a buyer to a seller indicating types, quantities, and agreed prices for products or
services. It is used to control the purchasing of products and services from
external suppliers.

Procedures in Accomplishing the Forms

2. Indicate date of request.
3. Fill in the classification of the project and its purpose.
4. Write the number of required materials.
5. State the condition of the materials.
6. Secure the approval of authorities concerned.

Procedures in preparing an inspection report to the property custodian

1. Upon receipt of the Request for Inspection, see to it that all required
documents are attached like the original copies of the perfected Purchased
Order/ Contract, Delivery Receipts/ Sales Invoice, and other.
2. Check the documents submitted as to completeness and authenticity prior
to inspection.
3. Take note of any cases of alteration erasures or other modification in the
perfected Purchase Order / Contract.
4. Take note of the receipt of the Property/ Supply Unit, the place and the date
of delivery.
5. If there’s a required sample mentioned in perfected PO/Contract, ask for the
approved sample for purposes of comparison/verification.
6. After all the documents have been evaluated, proceed to the delivery site
specified in the perfected PO/ Contract and conduct inspection and testing
procedure if necessary.
7. Conduct physical inspection of the items delivered. Count the items delivered
and check with the required quantity.
8. Determine whether it is brand new, reconditioned or rebuilt.
9. Take note for the obvious damage or defect in the equipment.
10. Prepare the inspection report immediately after inspection for the submission
to the supply officer
