Reflective Analysis

At the beginning of this course, I had certain goals I wanted to achieve. Based on

Bloom’s Taxonomy, I was able to create goals I wanted to incorporate into this class and

continue into the rest of my college career. At the end of this course, I have learned more about

how to write in different disciplines so that I am better prepared for my major and a different

major if necessary. The different artifacts I included in this Weebly exhibit this the best. These

papers also show my ability to better comprehend the structure and proper grammar of the

English language and be able to apply it when writing a paper for my major. In this class, I also

learned the need to work on analyzing reading, comprehending the information, and creating

new ideas from the work. Through these goals I can get to a higher cognitive level of thinking

and processing new information, retaining it, and applying it to future assignments. The process

of remembering, understanding/ comprehending, applying knowledge, analyzing, evaluating, and

creating ideas is vital when writing essays and papers and also processing new information in all

disciplines and majors.

In my first artifact, I used the first writing assignment to show my knowledge of how I

improved in working and editing my paper. It also exemplifies my knowledge and research into

my discourse and discipline. The peer revisions that happened and I did helped develop this

paper. This process of thinking will be important when comprehending new writing and having
to identify grammatical errors. I know this course and this way of thinking helped me in these

ways.

In my second artifact, I wanted to show my Op-ed and the different drafts to the final

product. This artifact illustrates how I used the process of readings and being able to put my

thinking and analyzing the work into words and creating work out of my analyzing and

comprehending of a subject. I was able to memorize and learn some of the information from the

discourse. It also exemplifies the different ways I have learned to write within different

disciplines.

In my third artifact, I choose to include my visual discourse analysis. It shows how I was

able to work within my discipline while also exploring a different technology of expressing the

information I learned and wanted to share. Through the peer reviews, I was able to finalize and

form the best version of my project as possible.

In short, I feel as if the artifacts I have included on my Weebly reflect my ability to

achieve my goal of getting to know the different disciplines better and how writing within those

disciplines changes. I have been able to display more knowledge that I’ve learned about my

discipline and other disciplines. I have also learned to better comprehend the structure and proper

grammar of the English language and be able to apply it when writing a paper for my major.
