Job Description Assembly Manager
Assembly Manager oversees the entire manufacturing process and ensures the assembly production
process adheres to company policies and procedures. His/her job is to handle the cost efficiency,
quality and safety throughout the manufacturing process while working with other personnel.
Plan, direct and coordinate the operations of assembly and complete reports and other
documents related to production and the staff
Ensure safe operation of the plant while maintaining consistent superior quality of the
finished product
Assure timely filling and completion of customer order by efficiently utilizing resources
Enforce and ensure that staff follows company rules, regulations, government policies and
procedures in the assembly line department
Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and abilities of the shop
floor personnel
Set production goals and meet target dates
Communicate and work closely with supervisor (s) and other departments
Enforce work standards and handle disciplinary processes
Involve in budgeting, scheduling, troubleshooting and solve daily issues to ensure
production goals are met
Lead in coaching, team building and development of all employees
Hire and train new assembly staff
Administer employment policies and procedures
Develop and track metrics to continuously monitor and improve all aspects of the
production process
Drive continuous improvement efforts utilizing initiatives to reduce costs and support the
attainment of established goals
Play a key role in the implementation of new processes, equipment, and products
Lead the advancement and implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives in the
department and by example at all times
Provide Assembly Supervisor(s) with all necessary information, tools and parts to be
successful.
Other duties as assigned by management
Must be resourceful, strategic thinker with exceptional leadership and motivational skills
