JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Mississauga

Position Summary: Maintains and enhances the organization’s Human Resources by planning,
implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resource policies, programs, and
practices to optimize the process of achieving the business objectives of the organization. The
incumbent will focus specifically in the areas of Labour and Employee Relations, Performance
Management, Team Building, Career & Competency Management as well supporting Health and
Safety and Recordkeeping.

Key Responsibilities:

 Maintain and follow up on training matrix for H&S ensuring that training for all
employees is up to date and does not expire
 Assist managers, supervisors and clients with safety documentation and correspondence.
 Conduct and track new employee orientation
 Organize the JHSC (Joint Health Safety Committee), collect inspections reports, agendas
and update action item register
 Maintain safety boards and information posting
 Act as a key contact in dealing with a broad range of human resources policies and
procedures, and employee relations matters. Ensure legal compliance with all applicable
industrial laws
 Lead all aspects of Employee Relations including employee events, conflict resolution,
and disciplinary investigations
 Investigate and resolve employee concerns/complaints/harassment.
 Support management during Ministry of Labor visit and follow up
 Records, administers and maintains all WSIB claims
 Administers and maintains the Return to Work program
 Conducts research into human resource programs/activities and recommends changes or
innovation where desirable
 Provide exceptional employee services to all staff and management
 Prepare ,develop and execute teambuilding activities throughout the plant
 Contribute as a key member of the Plant Management team in strategic decisions,

 Other duties as assigned by management
Qualification:

 Bachelor's degree, College Diploma, or Post-Graduate Certificate in Human


Resources /Health and Safety /Industrial Relations
 Completed or working towards CHRL/CHRP
 Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
 Solid working knowledge of Labour Laws such as Employment Standards Act, Ontario
Human Rights Code, OHSA; R.R.O. 1990,Reg 851 Industrial Establishment
 High attention to detail and organizational skills are a must

Experience: 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources /Health and Safety

Language: English
