Art Appreciation

1. What are the purposes of art during ancient time in Europe?


Way back before, during the ancient times, arts has been an accomplishments of
human beings. Like for example, in sculptures where typically made of stones or wood,
mostly the nude sculpture ones, Greeks found beauty in the naked human body. In
addition, art also reflected the perfection of the Gods before.

2. Why ancient arts are mostly found in caves? What are their significant values?
Art that can be found in the caves before, and caves was acknowledge as shelter
during ice age. Commonly, these arts created by homo sapiens and some claims that
the reason why homo sapiens draw in the caves because they want to record what kind
of occurrence or animals they encountered. It’s just like a diary to them. Also, the
symbols they had made may have meaning among the artist and their earliest form of
communication.

3. What is the importance of stone during Paleolithic period? Explain.


Stones during Paleolithic is like technology to them produced the first
accomplishment of human creativity in the use of stone. Aside from making arts, early
humans used it as their instrument and tools for survival like stone axes that they are
using for animal hunting.

4. What art legacy in ancient Europe do you like the most? Explain.
I really like how ancient or Greek used stones as their own sculpture. We all
know that sculptures have meanings, and person behind stone carving or sculpture
before was indeed amazing. Architecture structures made from stones seems realistic
to see.
