Drag force calculation (KC2):

Height (h) = 13.8m (Eave)

Length (d) = 210.73 m

Breadth (b) = 65.825m

Wind Pressure (Pd) = 1.533kN/m2.

Drag Force (F’) = Cf’(d-4h)bPd+Cf’(d-4h)2hPd

Cf’=0.02

(F’) = 0.02(210.73- (4x13.8)) x65.825x1.533 + 0.02(210.73 – (4x13.8)) x2x13.8x1.533= 446kN

No of sides in frame and no.of longitudinal bracings in each side (2x2)= 446/ 4 = 111.50 kN.

No of braced bays = 6 = 111.50/6 = 18.58 kn ~ 19kN.

Hence a additional force due to friction drag = 19kN.

Height (h) = 13.8m (Eave)

Length (d) = 99.97 m

Breadth (b) = 65.825m

Wind Pressure (Pd) = 1.533kN/m2.

Drag Force (F’) = Cf’(d-4h)bPd+Cf’(d-4h)2hPd

Cf’=0.02

(F’) = 0.02(99.97- (4x13.8)) x65.825x1.533 + 0.02(99.97 – (4x13.8)) x2x13.8x1.533= 128.5kN

No of sides in frame and no.of longitudinal bracings in each side (2x2)= 128.5/ 4 = 32.05 kN.

No of braced bays = 3 = 32.05/3 = 10.68 kn ~ 11kN.

Hence a additional force due to friction drag = 11kN.
