Requirements for Essays
Students are responsible for printing their essays at the school library or
at home. Print and staple essays before coming to class -- otherwise,
essays are considered as late. If a student is unable to type the essay, the
essay can be neatly written. Please use MLA format for each essay.

Late Work Policy

Students have a four-day window of time to turn in a late assignment in which they
will forfeit 10% of the assignment’s grade. If an assignment is more than four days
late, students will forfeit 30% of the assignment’s grade. When students return late
work, they are required to paperclip a late-work form to the assignment. Please put
late work in my hands -- not on my desk.

Example: If a ten-point assignment is due on Monday and a student hands in the

assignment late, the student can only earn a maximum of nine points on Tuesday,
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Any day after the four-day window, the student can
only earn a maximum of seven points.
