    DESCRIPTION : PENTADUR EPOXY PHENALKAMINE ZINC PHOSPHATE


    PRIMER is a two-component phenalkamine cured Epoxy Primer
    containing Zinc Phosphate as corrosion inhibiting pigment. It
    cures to a tough and highly rust preventive coat. It can cure at
    low temperature
    .
    TYPICAL USE :As a primer in PENTADUR systems on steel and other metal
    surfaces in moderate to severe corrosive marine and industrial
    environment.

    PRODUCT DATA:
    MIXING RATIO : Base: 5 parts by volume
    Curing Agent : 1 part by volume

    POT LIFE : 6 – 8 hours at 300 C

    APPLICATION : Airless Spray, Air Spray, Brush

    NOZZLE ORIFICE : 0.021”

    NOZZLE PRESSURE : 2540 psi

    VOLUME SOLIDS : 65 %

    RECOMMENDED DFT : 75 microns

    CORRESPONDING WFT : 125 microns

    THEORETICAL SPREADING
    RATE AT ABOVE DFT : 8.66 M2 / Ltr.

    SURFACE DRY : 2 hrs. at 300 C

    HARD DRY : 16 Hrs.

    FULLY CURED : 1 week at 300 C

    SURFACE PREPARATION :

    NEW STEEL : Abrasive blasting to Sa 2½. If a shop primer is used, all


    damages to shop primer and contamination from storage
    and fabrication should be thoroughly cleaned prior to final
    painting. For repair and touch up use PENTADUR
    EPOXY PHENALKAMINE ZINC PHOSPHATE PRIMER..

    ON OTHER METAL AND LIGHT ALLOYS: Thorough


    degreasing and light abrasive sweeping to remove all
    contamination.

    MAINTENANCE : Remove oil and grease with a detergent solution and


    high pressure fresh water hosing. Galvanized steel may
    require light blasting with a fine abrasive depending on the
    condition of the surface and the degree of contamination.

    HEALTH & SAFETY : As a general rule, avoid inhalation of solvent vapours or


    paint mist and contact of paint with skin and eyes. Provide
    forced ventilation when working with solvent borne coating
    in confined spaces or stagnant air. Also provide
    respiratory, skin and eye protection. Also follow local and
    national safety regulations.
