Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Bin Syed Nor Al-Bukhari is a person who never knew the
meaning of failure and he always learned from the mistakes he made. He is also very
cautious in business especially with regard to buying and acquiring interests in companies
and projects. He seemed to think of the people, especially the Bumiputera before making
any important business decisions. He has a great personality that everone shoul emulate.
Datuk Nicol Ann David is a female Malaysian professional squash player, currently
ranked 6th in the world. She was born on August 26, 1983.She has a record of 51
consecutive victories from March 2006 to April 2007. Her squash career started early at
age 8. At the age of 8, she was selected to represent Penang in the 1992 Milo-Dunlop
National Junior Intermediate Championship. She was given the title of Bakti Degree in
conjunction with His Majesty's birthday, Mizan Zainal Abidin. Nicol was also honored to
bring the Olympic torch to Malaysia in preparation for the Athens Olympics in 2004 and
was also named the UNDP's Goodwill Ambassador of Malaysia.

architect, while also being the largest individual shareholder until May 2014. He is one of

and 1980s. He started computer programming since he was 13 years old. He then founded
the iconic software company with his colleague Paul Allen in 1975. At that point he
decided to drop out of his studies at Harvard University and start focusing on Microsoft.
Between 1978 to 1981, Microsoft was growing rapidly. The company’s employees grew
from 25 to 128. The company’s revenue began to increase from USD 4 million to USD
16 million at that time.
Being the richest Bumiputera in Malaysia with 167 billion assets, his name is well
known both locally and abroad.
He was awarded medals and honorary ddegrees including ‘Panglima Setia
Mahkota’ (PSM) by DYMM Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Dipertuan Agong who
carries the title Tan Sri and Dato Setia Mahkota Kedah (DSDK) by KDYMM
Sultan Kedah carrying the Dato.
Yayasan Al-Bukhari which is founded by him, contributed RM1 million to the
Langkawi Project.
He founded a private university, Albukhary International University (AIU) in
Alor Setar, Kedah in 2010.
He set up and managed the RM70 million Islamic Art Museum in Kuala Lumpur
as well as carrying out many charities, especially around Kedah and Perak.

United States” from 1993 to 2006 and ranked number 1 on the world’s richest list
from 1995 to 2007.
In addition to Microsoft, he also invests in other companies. He opened Corbis, a
digital image company in 1989. In 2004, he became a director at Berkshire
Hathaway, an investment company led by his friend Warren Buffett.
