Goal
In order to further understand poetry, you will need to experience the process of analyzing poetry.
You will create a collection of reflections on famous poetry, provide information on a famous poet,
and write your own poetry.

In this task you will be researching, reading, analyzing, writing, responding to, memorizing,
discussing, and collecting poetry.
“Poem”
by Author
The poem “________” by Author is a narrative poem with three stanzas. The poet used rhyme,
repetition, and alliteration, which creates a pleasing rhythm. For example, the rhyme scheme was
AAB and specifically the words rain and pane, snails and tails, and spice and nice rhyme. The
repetition occurs in the last line of each stanza stating what each noun is made of. Author’s use of
alliteration was roses and rain, snakes and snails, and sugar and spice. Imagery of roses, rain, and
beads made me picture looking out my window during a morning sprinkle in spring. The overall
theme of the poem was…... This was obvious when the poet states, “………………..” (line 2) and
