NATIONALISTIC SONG
Kumintang – is a war song that became famous for the
Batangueños. The Jocelyn ng Baliwag is a Kundiman
which fired the patriotic sentiments of the Tagalog
revolutionaries in the struggle for liberation from Spanish Colonial rule.

In the guise of a love and courtship song, it features lyrics dedicated to


a young and beautiful Filipina idolized
in the Bulacan town of Baliwag named Josefa “Pepita”
