BER Tester Signal Analyzer
BER Tester Signal Analyzer
BER Tester Signal Analyzer
The basic LITE 3000 and the LITE 3000E, with its two independent
receivers and one transmitter, support framed and unframed testing and
monitoring. This makes it ideal for both in-service and out-of-service
transmission-quality measurements. For fast troubleshooting, the
instrument displays alarms and transmission-link status on LED
indicators. The large colour display shows other relevant information,
such as the level of the 2 Mbit/s signal and the frequency difference
between the inputs. The instrument's two inputs permit immediate
monitoring of the two sides of a PCM line and allow comparison of
simultaneously recorded results.
Adding options tailors the LITE 3000/LITE 3000E to test the A-bis
interface of GSM networks. Equipped with GSM-specific SS7 protocols
(A-interface and MAP protocols), it is converted into a comprehensive
transmission tester and signalling analyser for GSM networks. With other
options, it becomes a powerful signalling analyser for SS7 and ISDN
protocols and for CAS and MF signalling. Easy-to-interpret signalling
decodes and statistics make signalling analysis and acquisition of
information on the current state of the network very straightforward
tasks.
For testing of a data transmission line, the LITE 3000E can be equipped
with the data interface measurement option. The instrument can be set up
as a DTE in order to test the data interfaces. It can also be set up as a
DCE to test the terminal equipment. The dual-receive setting for the data
interfaces permits the control circuits on the line to be monitored. The
instrument is thus ideal for both in-service and out-of-service
transmission measurements.
The ISDN call emulation option provides the LITE 3000E with the
necessary functionality for testing ISDN connections. The instrument can
set up and receive ISDN calls with user-specified parameters such as
called number and facilities. When a connection is set up, a conversation
or a BER test can be made. Special facilities permit testing availability of
supplementary services.
Results are easy to read and interpret on the large LCD display, with its
colour coding and graphical symbols. Data can be printed directly to an
external printer or exported to a PC via the remote interface. Presentation
of transmission-error results as histograms facilitate error tracing. The
LITE 3000/LITE 3000E may be operated remotely through an optional
MS Windows® program.
