Section I Introduction
SECTION I
INTRODUCTION

A. Background
Politeknik ATK is a government university under concern of the
Ministry of Industry. Previously, it has named by Akademi Teknologi
Kulit (ATK) Yogyakarta. It is provide Diploma III program for leather,
rubber, and plastic engineering.
As description before, then the vision and mission of Politeknik
ATK are create excellent Politeknik of leather, rubber, and plastic product
Industry and participate at development of National industry also provide
international standard education for educational profession of leather,
rubber, plastic product.
Diploma program’s students of rubber, and plastic engineering has
obtain knowledge about polymer and plastic product making science
(organic chemical, polymer, plastic materials, plastic machinery, making
of plastic products, testing of plastic product, and occupational health and
safety) theory and practically.
With participate this Internship program be expected student will
obtain an actual experience about latest evolution of plastic industry
manufacturing related to knowledge obtained from college

B. Learning experience
For the courses which related to this internship concern are described
below:
1) Organic chemical is the course studying about organic chemical
compound including organic compound, reaction between it,
structures, types of compound, and functional bonds of organic
chemical compound.

2) Polymer is course studying about macro-compound compose from

monomers grafting with certain method of polymerization for making
material with different properties from substantial material. for
example product from this method is plastic.
3) Plastic Materials is course studying about types of plastics, physical
and chemical properties, structures and synthesis of plastics.
4) Plastic machinery is course studying about plastic processing
machines such as injection molding, blow molding, extrusion blow
molding, and injection blow molding and parts of machine and
parameters of processing plastics.
5) Plastic technology is course study about evolution of plastic industry
and modern plastic processing to obtain diverse plastics for common
application and specific application.
6) Making of plastic products is course studying about making process of
plastic product with actual observation and participated to decide the
optimal parameters of processing plastic product.
7) Testing of plastic product is course studying about procedure testing
of product plastics referred to determine standard and identifying
defect of plastic product and also it cause.
8) Occupational health and safety is course studying about anticipation,
evaluation, and control of hazard at workplace and environmental
workplace affected to health and safety of employers

C. Internship assignment
Aspect of assignment including;
1) Technology of making outsole for sneakers type Collin 2.0 with TPU
materials processed by injection molding.
2) Technology of selecting ingredients for TPU outsole for sneakers type
Collin 2.0 including raw materials and additional ingredients.
3) Engineering of operating injection molding and other machines related
to TPU outsole for sneakers type Collin 2.0 making process.

Above points are including at technical of making TPU outsole

processed by injection molding and other machines. Writer should be
participated on the process of making TPU outsole for sneakers type
Collin 2.0 involve the points above.

LEGAL STANDING AND GOALS

A. Legal Standing
Legal standing for this Internship is permission letter to conduct
survey obtained from academic Politeknik ATK Yogyakarta and
permitted by Head of Rubber and Plastic process Technology. It was
attached below.

B. Goals
Corresponding to the mission of Politeknik ATK Yogyakarta i.e.
create competent graduates and capable to work to evolve student on the
work-field to create good quality of leather, rubber, and plastic product
for commercial requirement as the result of this internship as following;

1. Learning about machine and materials for making TPU outsole

manufacture. Specially outsole for sneakers type Collin 2.0.
2. Learning about process of making TPU outsole processed by injection
molding.
3. Increasing knowledge and experience in making process of TPU
outsole for sneakers type Collin 2.0 at PT. ECCO Indonesia.
4. Increasing knowledge about actual industry environment and all
related to TPU outsole such machinery and manufacturing.

INTERNSHIP IMPLEMENTATION

A. Internship workplace and time

Time : February 11th 2019 – May 3rd 2019 ( if any change of schedule will
be inform by Politeknik ATK )
Place : PT. ECCO Indonesia
In case, if any change of internship schedule, we will immediately
inform to PT. ECCO Indonesia.

B. Learning objective
1. Introduction
Introduce profile of PT. ECCO Indonesia including history of PT.
ECCO Indonesia, Vision and Mission also machines and materials used in
PT. ECCO Indonesia related to TPU shoe sole making process.
2. Orientation Internship
Learning procedure and process applied at PT. ECCO Indonesia in
specifically for making process of TPU shoe sole.
3. Specific assignment
Student is included at actual process of making shoe sole to get more both
learning and experiences.

C. Internship advisers
Internship implementation will be mentoring by:
1. Dosage
Dosage delegated from Department of Rubber and Plastic engineering
Politeknik ATK Yogyakarta. During internship student stays contacting
mentor for consultation about internship preparation, this consultation will
held until last evaluation.

2. Mentor from PT. ECCO Indonesia

During internship student allowed to interaction with technicians and get
evaluating by them for student performance during internship
implementation.

This method is doing literature research related to making process
of TPU shoe sole.

This data are obtained at PT. ECCO Indonesia at actual
processing, interview, and practical study.

This data use to strength the primary data, obtain from
literature related to internship objective learning and latest data
from PT. ECCO Indonesia.

During internship student will need some stuff such as stationary
and transportation fees will be certified by student and standard safety

CONCLUSION

This internship proposal will use to completing the internship

application by mean of this internship proposal be expected to
acceptable and can implement fitting the schedule was created. Giving
permit this internship to student can introduce the actual industry
environment to student. The opportunity that given by PT. ECCO
Indonesia will sure utilize and be arrange to a best report Internship.
We expected support and involvement of PT. ECCO Indonesia to
the success of this internship program. Hopefully this proposal will
obtain permitted to implement.
Any detail which listed yet will set-after by deal of all party
concerned to this internship program.
