I. Objectives
At the end of the period, the pupils should be able to:

 Demonstrate understanding of the sun as the main source of heat and light on Earth
 Describe the effects of the sun

A. Preparatory Activities

1. Review

Class, do you still remember our last lesson? Yes Teacher !

What is our lesson? The Sun

Define what is it . The sun is a star that the Earth moves around
and that gives the Earth heat and light.

2. Motivation

Class, who among you here use to play Everyone


outside during noon time?

What did you feel when your are exposing My skin was hot and it makes me hurt!
too much at the heat of the sun?
3. Developmental Activity

Class, I have here a picture

What do you see in this pictures?


A dead animal at the heat of the sun.
A beautiful flowers
A girl seeing the dry soil !

What did the picture tell us? The sun has a good and bad effects to us.
Very good!

C. Discussion

The sun id the main source of heat


and light. It is made up of a very hot
gasses. These gasses are so hot that they
glow. The sun’s surface is about 500
degrees Celsius and it’s temperature at
the core is about 15000 degree Celsius.
The sun’s heat and light reaches the
earth through radiation.

Almost all living things rely on the


steady heat and light of he sun. We
receive just heat from the sun so living
things survive. The sunlight brightens
the earth helps us the things in our
surroundings. Plants can undergo the
process of “food making” called
photosynthesis with the aid of sunlight.

The sun have a bad effects such as


Excessive exposure to sunlight can burn
or harm the skin.
