Served as the Technical/Solution lead on proposals worth over $250M and have helped our
partners and clients win multi-million $ contracts at HHS, DOS, NASA, and other agencies. A
few key success vignettes include:
 Technical leadership related to DevOps and Agile Development on a $100M contract at a
major Federal agency.
 Centralized, Consolidated, and Virtualized 65 geographically dispersed data centers into
one data center located in Chicago
 Program management, technical leadership, and ongoing Business Analysis support for a
$45M contract including over 20 systems/applications.
 Comprehensive IT assessment with tangible recommendations to evaluate readiness in
leveraging the cloud for productivity, mobile and remote workforce support, and COOP/DR
 Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) program implementation and support on 45
major FISMA reportable systems and 45 minor systems
 IT Modernization of over 70 applications processing transactions of $50 billion/year with
peak transaction loads of over 2000 transactions per second. Maintaining PCI compliance

CALIBRE – Alexandria, VA April 2010–September 2012


Vice President and Chief Technology Officer
Served as part of senior leadership and the company’s technology steward worldwide to spur
and promote the innovative use of IT to create a sustained, long-term competitive
advantage.
 Led the planning and coordination of an IT vision, strategy, goals, budget, and initiatives
in support of the company’s long term objectives. Implemented CALIBRE's first ever IT
Strategic Plan within my first year at the company.
 Worked in conjunction with company business units to provide Technology and IT
leadership on customer facing projects, contract re-competes, and new business
development within the DoD, Federal Civil, and commercial market segments.
 Successfully led CALIBRE to achieve two Microsoft Gold level competencies (Data and
Server Platform) as a Microsoft Certified Partner, which provided close to $200K of
tangible benefits each year.
 Provided technology and process leadership that was instrumental in CALIBRE achieving
its CMMI Maturity Level 2 rating across its operations domains. Established a
comprehensive corporate-wide audit program that resulted in Process and Product
Quality Assurance (PPQA) being rated at CMMI Capability Level 4.
 Instituted and led quarterly Town Hall meetings to enable CALIBRE’s IT community of
130+ professionals to collaboratively share capabilities and improvements across the
company. These Town Halls were recognized by the corporate management as a key

content for Unisys global Executive Innovation/Demonstration Centers as part of a Six
Sigma project to improve marketing effectiveness and efficiency by consolidating over 60
client facing centers into seven centers leading to an annual cost savings of $7.6M.
 Established and led a 20-person offshore team to support portfolio and business

Executive Architect, February 2005–December 2008


Unisys executive leadership created this new role to help improve sagging corporate win
rates and declining profitability.
 Provided technical leadership as the chief architect on $500M worth of proposals a year
improving overall corporate win-rates by 200%.
 Conceptualized, designed, and implemented a self-paced course on SOA to base-line the
skills of over 650 architects globally.
 Improved project profitability by standardizing the service delivery process and instituting
the use of Enterprise Architecture (Zachman, TOGAF), Service Delivery Frameworks
(ITIL), and a highly automated and traceable proposal development process based on the
IBM/Rational Tool set, CMMI and PMI best practices, and the Shipley proposal
development methodology.

The North Highland Company – Atlanta, GA February 2001–February 2005


Principal/Senior Specialist
 Architected, designed, and implemented a custom-developed portal for the Georgia
Department of Human Resources significantly lowering customer service costs and raising
client satisfaction levels. It was the first web application in the state to support multiple
languages. The solution was a finalist in the Government-to-citizen category of the 2004
Digital Government Achievement contest held by the Center for Digital Government.

 Re-architected the Java-based Data Access Layer in a multi-million dollar marketing


project at a Fortune 100 beverage company.
 Served as the Enterprise Architect for a $2B division of a Fortune 10 company to establish
their technology strategy and realign their IT organization to achieve better agility.
 Led a SWAT team to diagnose and improve performance issues of a major e-commerce
application resulting in a performance improvement from over 60 seconds per transaction
to less than 5 seconds per transaction.
 Led numerous architecture reviews/assessments to validate the architecture/design,
identify violations of commonly accepted best practices, assist in technology selection/
justification, and troubleshoot performance and scalability related issues.

Online Insight – Atlanta, GA October 1999–January 2001


Lead Systems Architect
Re-architected the flagship product “Precision Choice” transforming it from a single process
monolithic application into a multi-tiered, highly distributed, and extremely loosely coupled
system. The software was based on Java (version 1.3) and utilized CORBA (version 2.3).

Clarus Corporation – Atlanta, GA June 1998–October 1999


Research Engineer/Software Architect
Architected and developed the product development framework at Clarus. This multi-tiered,
component-based framework was implemented using Microsoft DCOM and MTS and written
entirely in C++ and was geared at increasing development productivity.

Radiant Systems – Atlanta, GA June 1997–June 1998


Software Developer/Architect
Re-architected and developed (in C++) the credit card processing system in the Electronic
Payment Systems (EPS) department at Radiant Systems. The innovative new design was
highly multi-threaded and completely component-based. The end result was an improvement
in the performance by over 100% (i.e., credit card processing time from swipe to
approval/denial was reduced by half).

United Technologies – Atlanta, GA October 1995–June 1997


Software Engineering Consultant
Architected and implemented the painting subsystem on the Large Painting Robot (LPR) for
the F-22 stealth fighter plane at Lockheed Martin. The objective of the project was to
automate the hazardous process of painting (toxic fumes) the planes, and at the same time
improve the accuracy, reliability, efficiency and speed of painting by eliminating/reducing the
human factor.
