    To Generate a Signal

    1. Dial up the frequency ( Fig.1 )

    2. Connect coax to either BNC socket depending on level of signal required.

    3. Press the CW button to generate an unmodulated signal. In this setting the
    frequency of the output signal is locked to the master oscillator in the unit
    and is drift free. USE THIS MODE FOR MOST OF YOUR SIGNAL
    NEEDS. (Fig.3)

    4. For a signal that needs a modulated signal ( A TONE ) press either the
    internal or external FM button. Or both if needing internal and external
    modulation. Adjust the black knob for internal 1000hz tone and/or the red
    knob for external deviation input. Adjust the frequency of the signal
    generator to zero or any desired frequency offset using the FM CAL
    tuning knob. ALWAYS RETURN TO THE LOCKED CW POSITION
    WHEN MODULATION IS NOT REQUIRED. (Fig.4 )

    5. Read the frequency offset error on the meter ( Fig.5)


    6. Adjust the R.F push buttons and the attenuator knob for the desired signal
    level. ( Fig.6 )

    1. Dial in the known frequency ( Fig.1 )

    2. Press in the RCVR button. ( Fig.2 )

    3. Press the 1.5 , 5 or 15 khz pushbutton to select the correct range of
    deviation. ( Fig.3 )

    4. Connect the antenna or a coax lead to the broadband mixer or the


    preselector BNC sockets. Throw the switch to the correct socket. ( Fig.4 )

    5. Select the deviation switch to the correct position . For radio use select
    narrow.
    6. Read the frequency error on the meter. ( Fig.6 )

    7.Set the deviation meter or scope range control to the desired setting of
    deviation from the meter or scope. Audio quality can be monitored via the
    speaker within the unit. ( Fig.7 )
