Like any other uniformed public service theirs a ranks structure in the
British fire brigade. The rank is shown on the firefighter’s helmet and
also on the firefighter’s arm badge that is worn on their fire fighting
jacket.

Senior Divisional Manager –
All these ranks are structured to suit the requirement and responsibilities
each role has to offer, the wages vary a great deal from £24,000 as a fire-
fighter to £59,000 as a Chief Fire Officer. The ranks are marked with a
new arm badge and new helmet worth different patterns and colours from
yellow to white. White Helmets are seen as the higher end of the Fire
Brigade. And yellow the lower end. There are around 250,000 fire service
requites in The U.K excluded Chanel islands.
