 NEED OF THE CONFERENCE
Research and Development activities are the essential components for the never
ending search of new knowledge and progress of human race. The national
conference on ‘Advancements & Futuristic Trends in Mechanical and Industrial
Engineering, AFTMIE-2010' is being organized by Department of Mechanical
Engineering, GITM, Bilaspur to bring researchers and experts from academia
and industry on a common platform to discuss, share and create awareness
about the latest technologies being adopted in the field of science and
engineering. It will help in bridging the gap between academic, research and
industry, which is prime need of the day. The conference aims at bringing the
general research progresses and new ideas in the field of Mechanical
Engineering to lime light for deliberation, discussion and updation.

 ABOUT THE CITY - BILASPUR
Bilaspur is a historical town, sub divisional headquarter in district Yamunanagar,
Haryana. The city has environment which is free of noise and pollution. About 18
kms away from the Bilaspur town in the foothills of the Shivaliks, is a
picturesque location, abundant with natural beauty and tranquility, with the Adi-
Badri Narayana, Shri Kedar Nath and Mantra Devi Temples in the background.
Adi Badri is also considered as emerging spot of Saraswati River. The major
attraction of the town is Kapal Mochan the holy place for Sikhs and Hindus.
Moreover, Maharishi Ved Vyas composed the great epic “Mahabharat” at this
place. The temperature in November will be 150 to200 C.

GITM, is situated in Bilaspur which is linked to various states like Punjab,

Himachal, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh within reach of 30-40 km. It is situated
around 15 Kms from the twin city of Jagadhri- Yamunanagar known for utensils,
paper, sugar and plywood.

ABOUT THE INSTITUTE

Positive Attitude has been a driving force behind Ganpati's success and
achievements. The institute has a lush green campus spread over 27 acres. The
institute not only aims at imparting quality education but also inculcates cultural
values to its students. To enable our students to keep pace with the competitive

THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has grown tremendously over the

years since its inception. The Department has well equipped laboratories.
Besides high quality teaching, the Department is actively involved in basic and
applied research. The Department is also running specialized diploma courses
in the field of Mechatronics, Tool & die, Automobile and Production in order to
meet the present requirement of Industry.
