People from around the world flock to Memphis kickoff to Memphis in May. Beale
Street Music Festival 2015 has more than 50 bands performing on three stages over three days.
In anticipation for this years Beale Street Music Festival, here is the top 8 bands to see.

1. Paramore: Alternative turned pop

A regional band from Franklin, Tennessee, Paramore has evolved their music over and over since
they formed in 2003. Just like the front singers, Hayley Williams, choice of hair style. At the
beginning, Paramore had a more alternative and punk vibe, especially with their song from 2007,
Misery Business. Recently, they have evolved into a more pop band. The bands never-ending
energy and charisma on stage are two of the reasons theyre the headliners of Music Fest.
Paramore plays on May 2 at the FedEx Stage.
2. Jenny Lewis: A badass female solo artist
Who doesnt love a female solo singer, especially one like Jenny Lewis, who refused to sing for
the indie rock band, Rilo Kiley, unless she was the lead vocalist. The bands breakup in 2011

didnt deter Lewis. Her seductive, crooning voice is reminiscent of a modern Stevie Nicks, and
her guitar skills are equally impressive. Lewis plays on May 1 at the Bud Light Stage.
3. Wale: A meaningful voice in a distorted culture
Wale is a rapper originating from Washington, D.C., where he became popular for his soulful
music about controversial topics, such as overdosing on drugs and violence. Wale was
discovered by Mark Ronson who produced the hit song, Uptown Funk. Wale plays May 2 at
the Rockstar Energy Drink Stage.
4. Robert Randolph and the Family Band: An extravaganza of instruments
If you want someone playing the pedal steel guitar in a blues band, then Robert Randolph is your
man. The band includes a fiddle, a guitar and an organ. His shows are entertaining, as he
encourages spectators to dance along. Robert Randolph and the Family Band play May 1 at the
Pearl River Resort Blues Tent.
5. Lindsey Stirling: Classical music with a hint of electro
Who cares if you get voted off Americas Got Talent? Certainly not Lindsey Stirling, whose
debut album has sold more than 360,000 copies in the U.S. Plus, Stirling just might be the girl of
your dreams. A classically trained violinist from Arizona, she plays the violin, dances, and rocks
out to electronic music, all at the same time. Stirling plays May 2 at FedEx Stage.
6. Bleachers: Super pop
Get ready to dance and sing, because Bleachers, formed in New York City by Jack Antonoff, has
acquired a cult following. His catchy songs, such as I Wanna Get Better, are populating the
radio and peoples minds. Bleachers play May 2 at FedEx Stage.

7. The Vespers: Folk music with a Southern twang

The Vespers is a four person band, made up of a pair of sisters and a pair of brothers, who are all
from Nashville. The sisters raspy voices bring an old Southern feel to the music. If you listen
closely, you could hear the Mississippi River in their voices. Oh wait, that is the Mississippi
River. The Vespers play May 2 at Bud Light Stage.
8. Myslovitz: An out of this country experience
Poland is Memphis In May International Festivals honored country this year, and Myslovitz is
