Essential Question(s): How have artists used cardboard to make art? How can I make a structurally sound cardboard sculpture? Connections (prior learning/prior knowledge): Students are familiar with cardboard from everyday life Students have done sculpture in previous art classes
Other considerations (modifications, accommodations, acceleration, etc.): Struggling students will get more one-on- one instruction Advanced students will be encouraged to work in a series
Resources/Materials Teacher: Images of artworks by various artists, Cardboard sculpture video by Eric Scott Students: Cardboard, Exacto knives, utility knives, metal rulers, Elmers glue, Masonite to cut on Assessment (How will you monitor progress and know students have successfully met outcomes?) Daily: Daily observations of sketches/sculptures as they are being developed This Week: Completion of the sketch Unit: Final piece and participation in critique
