In our class this week
March has finally arrived, and so has reading month! We are off to a great start with our Dr. Seuss themed reading month. The children had a great time with their Green Eggs and Ham snack, The Sleep Book pajama day and our other fun activities this week. Please continue to have your child read 15 minutes each day so we can have our special treat at the end of the month. The students have also been reading during our regular daily reading block. We have been reviewing our high frequency words and letters, and also have been digging deep into our read alouds to understand the books better. Writing our opinions has been our writing topic this week, and our class has been continuing to work on addition during our math time. We have been decomposing numbers up to 8 and 9 so far. Lent has been our focus in religion, and we went to Stations of the Cross today which we will do each Friday during Lent. In science we are still discussing how objects move and in social studies we are learning about geography by discussing the land and water on maps.
